Hi, Fear made this, but evertyone can use it. It's a joint user for people to test out games, and all that jazz. Plus, people can make joint projects (which eveyone won't stop bugging poor alexp and march about).

Nice Avatar! And there's no need to be mean and abuse the account (although you do open it up to that!).

We will, eventually, offer the ability to share games amongst authors, although we don't want to turn into a Never Ending Story type site ... so I think the #authors will be limited to prevent this from happening.

The reasoning behind this is that we want "published" games to be complete. We actively unpublish games that are incomplete and delete "Waste-of-time" games (like one page or osmething).

Most of the users of the site are non-members who stop in to read, so it's very frusterating when they see incomplete stories.

and there's nothing worse than "camp fire" stories where everyone adds their own little piece of insantity and nonsense. If you'd like to work on a quality game together, that sounds great, and is encouraged, but by all means, don't keep publishing and unpublishing the same game so people can keep adding on to it!

good point march. maybe we could impliment a one or two publishing limit on games... that way you have to publish the firt time the way you want it then you only get one or two more chances to unpublish and fix complaints then you cant touch it anymore... and then we could send everyone over the age of 40 to another planet to control the population and put everyone on rations to control everyone... yeah thats sounding good lol

seriously though, maybe we could impliment some kind of "questionaire". for example, author "A" publishes a game on monday morning. Then tries to unpublish that nite. But in order for him to unpublish he must answer a question similar to this "Why do you feel your game needs to be unpublished". Then that answer would be sent to alex or you march and can be reviewed. if the reason is stupid then you deny it. yes, im crazy. yes, im wierd. but im just throwing out any and all ideas that i come up with. dont hate me lol.

let me clarify if you would. march, i completely agree with your thoughts on this whole sharing stories and making never ending stories. i dont like the prospect and will vote against it if able to. however, after reading what i wrote i realized that i may have come off as mocking you. i wasnt. seriously. you rock dude, as does everyone else who created and maintains this site.

PS. no, before you ask i havent worked on ANY of my games in a few days. so dont ask about The Family lol ive had more important things to attend to the past few weeks and will for awhile longer. sorry.

re:Hi

That's a good idea, but it might be too time consuming.

You do raise a great point. Since we list new games on the main page, I can see the potential for publishing/unpublishing abuse.

Perhaps a republish time limit, or just not showing republished games in the new games list.

By the way, I restricted games with no END GAME link from being published. i'm thinking of restricting games less than 5 pages. What do you guys think?

re:Hi

I think that's a good idea, but it has its flaws. Look at tips for newbies, that game was good, but it was under five pages(or could have been). Maybe you should edit it by the amount of content on pages.

re:Hi

i think not showing republished games in the new list would rock. i think that would take care of alot of potential "situations" lol. never thought you could do that though so i never thought to suggest that rather than my Logans Run idea lol

Well, technically we can't just yet. The database has only a column for "Published Date". But, it'd be easy to add a column "First Published Date" and just sort the New Games list by that.

I'll add it to the list.

That's not what I meant. It's like a demo server which newbs can use to test out the website, and, y'know, test out ideas, see what will work and what won't. Also, people without a actual ccount can use it in the furom to cast their opinions.

sorry to make everybody mad, cuz it must seem mean, but isent this off topic, shouldent you make a new link, so other people would browse it and add comments?  Correct me i'm wrong...
