You get the same starter comment as JJJ:
The first impression I get when reading your articles is that you didn't spend a whole lot of time working on them. That is not meant to be offensive, so please don't take it that way. But, it's evident in the writing (that, and how many you've posted ;-)); you know how the quality of writing changes when you do a PM versus a forum post, or a game? Articles need to be top quality writing, since this is what newbies will be reading. They need a good impression of the site.
Also consider that an article is worth 50 points -- 1/2 of a featured game. I don't know if solostrike posted his article on the ADV Editor, but that is right on target. Well written, easy to follow, and conclusive.
Now for the specific comments ...
I like the concept -- "Top 10 Ways to a Terrible Game". But it's far from being a complete article. Plus, maybe 10 isn't the magical number. Maybe it's too many (you know how much we love 8), maybe it's too little. It's hard to say, since right now I'm seeing a rough draft / brainstorm.
As far as some of the ideas, I agree with some of them, and disagree with others:
- 1,3 - they way it's written it seems like its the same idea. But i read closely and see you are talkinga bout linear games (note, linearness is not a word) and senseless death links. The linear topic really needs to be expanded. Cause I don't really get what you mean from that description
- 2 - It's not how long it is, but how you use it. I could see a really good short story being turned into a CYOA game, and it being only 10 pages
- 4 - good point. ironically, you misspelled grammar.
- 5 - kinda understand, but be more specific, do not refer to specific games
- 6 -agreed, but again, expand on
- 7 - yes! However you should point out the alternative -- post a link in the forums section
- 8 - sounds like a similar point to #6.
