If you've been following the forums, you may have read rumors about a new make-a-game contest. Well, it's finally here. March5th00 and I have discussed the rules and have decided how to run it. So, here goes ...
$100 Make-A-Game-ContestThe rules are simple. Three judges (alexp, march5th00, and the MysteryJudge*) will look at *all* games published between September 15th and November 1st and decide which game is the best.
The number of runner-ups and the prizes for runner-ups will be both be determined at judging time. But there *will* be runner up prizes! Could be cash .. could be myadventuregame merchandice ... it shall be a mystery!

* The Mystery Judge will be filling in for chocobot, who is currently in Iraq. He will not be a regular of the site but is excellent at reading and juding literature. We trust him.
Who is he? Well if I told you, he wouldn't be a Mystery Judge, now would he?
As far as the deadline, we may extend it later, but lets see how close everyone gets.
if you take all the posts you have done in the past month you all could make an excellent game. just put more effort into making the game rather than filling up post space. you guys can do it, i know you can.

LOLOLOLOL! YAY, its perfect! Fleshy, I do the same as Solo, anyway we both have differnt styles, mine happens to be posting and if your not happy with that, well then I dont really give a... No offense or anything but despite my posting, I have 21 Games! Thats more then you and you are probably gonna say well quizzes, I'l have you know only 11 of those is quizzes, so I have 10 Games, still in the top three. My game is a Length 8 so maybe I do spend the time.

dude, i never said you didnt spend the time. i was just saying that if alex sets a date we should respect that and work to achieve our goal in the time alotted. as for the # of games you have... i couldnt care less. i wasnt trying to act superior to anyone. just making a statement.
ok, question... say there was a specific someone... say billy bob for instance. and say billy bob had one of his old games that he had been working on for awhile brought back from the graveyard cause he gave up on it a long time ago. could this revived game be part of the contest even though it had previously been worked on and technically published for a very short time even though noone ever played it? just wondering cause like, billy bob, well hes interested and all. thanks,

Yes -- your game did not have more than a hnadful of pages, so its ok.
You shouldn't publish your game for that reason -- you can get a decent summary of the length by going to the first page in the pbulishing thing - the length description is always subject to change. Also it won't show up on new games since we use First Publish date to sort that screen. Plus we get an email notice everytime a game is published, and it gets annoying.
But this time I'll let MATTAIS slide though as well.
im... i mean billy bob is glad to hear that. ill be sure to tell him. however, with school and tests and papers im not sure ill... he will be able to finish the game anyway so i... he may have opened a door he didnt need to. sorry.

Yes, I am Not being Cocky just energetic after posting Mattias. I think the caves not finished and so I dont think it SHOULD come second. Those are my reasons, post counter-reasons if you'd like.
