Dust off a seat and discuss a good book here...you do read, right?

Unwind is probably the best Sci-Fi thriller ever.  For those who've never read or heard of it, it's about the future.  Not like The Jetsons future or anything.  It has something called The Bill of Life.  It was written after the Heartland War, which was a war about abortion.  The Bill of Life said that between the ages of 12 and 18 parents could "abort" a child without them dying.  The process is called Unwinding.  It tells the story of three Unwinds: Risa, who's being Unwound to cut orphanage costs, Connor, who's parents are Unwinding him because he's a troublemaker, and Lev, who's actually a tithe, who is Unwound because of there religion.  They all meet by fate and run away.  It may sound stupid but, trust me, it is sooooooooooooooooooooooo good!

Anybody out there?  Helloooooooooooooooo?

Look, this is the reading forum. If people haven't read the book, they most likely won't answer. It happens in nearly every thread on this forum, just a fact of life. Double posting to bump the thread won't make people post.

Sorry.  I'll learn the ropes of the Forums and do better next time I post something.

"Best sci-fi thriller ever", eh? I don't know about you, but for me the Matrix would hold that title. If you're talking about books, I'd say Foundation by Isaac Asimov. Actually, it's strange to see books that are both sci-fi and thriller. They don't tend to mix.

Best sci-fi thriller ever

Well, if were getting on the topic of "Best Sci-fi thriller Ever", at least as far as books go, then my fate would be in The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. Great book, great author.

I second that, Rommel, about the Matrix.

No love for Paraplaniac? Lol, kidding!

I started reading Foundation but found it boring, of course at the time there were more exciting things to do. I may look into it again! Also, this book Unwind sounds really interesting, I'll look into it as well. Thanks!

Foundation is just... incredible. It's not full of action though, its more a story about manipulation. Salvor Hardin is one of the most magnificent bastards ever to wield power, probably even moreso than the Discworld's Vetinari.

Paraplaniacs sucks, JJJ, and you know it! lol

Anyway, all you guys and your classic sci-fi's - pft! Pathetic! Everyone knows that Wall-E is the greatest sci-fi story ever!

Sucking at sucking is like failing at failing. It's not a double negative.

Unwind

Yes it is.

Kurt Cobain tried to fail so hard, but he couldn't do it and thus his music was still impeccable after Nirvana got popular.

Unwind

Exactly. Yes, it is not a double negative.

What are you talking about?

He failed at failing and thus his music was good.

Double negative.

Nah, your first sentence referring to Paraplaniacs sucking at sucking.

What about sucking at fucking, or fucking at sucking? Or fucking sucking? Or sucking fucking? Or suck-fucking? Or fuck-sucking?

I don't know the meaning of sucking at fucking.

Fucking at sucking doesn't make sense no matter how you construe it. I've sat for here for like five minutes trying to rationalize this one. No-go.

Fucking Sucking, well, you know all about that one.

Sucking Fucking.. Is that some new fad?

Suck-Fucking... Sounds Fun.

Fuck-sucking? Wtf?

I think I'll explore Suck-Fucking more. Sounds omgasmic.

Moving on, you said something out aliens and space, Neal.

Hey, what about space sex? Who doesn't want to try sex in space?!

Trust me, it's over-rated. Sex inside of a balloon is where it's at.

Unwind

What about space sex in a sex balloon in space?
