I don't get it tbh. Just a game of making immature sex jokes that lack any thinking or cleverness because the options are infront of you. And besides, I can do that on my own time anyways.

 

Actually, it depends who you're playing with.

Really? Does it really? You can play it by yourself if you wanted, or better, exaust every option and every combination there is by just laying the cards infront of you and reading out every match. There isn't exactly a reason to play with somebody if all the possible combinations already exist within the context of the game.

The type of jokes made depends on who you're playing with. I've only done one session so far, but clever uses is usually what scored the points for people when we did it. There's some more normal cards in the mix too. It's twice the challenge to do something clever when you have a hand full of nonsense.

Sure it's not for everyone though, so I can respect the choice not to play it. There's plenty of great single player games out there worth playing, and other party games too. I found it to be a crazy kind of fun and a nice break from my otherwise routine day. 

You could also read the last page of a book, or play a really difficult video game with God Mode turned on. Your point is?

Well, it's the same as playing chess against yourself. You're already thinking five steps ahead of your opponent, yourself. The point of CAH is to be witty (or immature, again depends on your friend group). You can't really be witty against yourself and expect a good laugh. That'd make you a crazy person - think of someone like that Mad Hatter. "Tea?" "Oh yes please *insert funny tea pun*" "OH AHAHAH good one!"

Of course they are. You can purposefully ruin the fun of something for yourself, but ruining the game by missing the point doesn't make the game you'd be playing otherwise bad or pointless. It just makes you an edgy hipster actively trying not to enjoy something that other people are enjoying.

It really is fun, imho, but to each their own.
