Questions about a storygame? Thoughts on Eternal? Any other IF you're playing out there?

I am having trouble with Magventure... I've made 2 stories, both were featured and won contests, and when I went to tabulate my score, it said I got stabbed. So I clicked reset game, and I got a message from fleshnblood78 and he asked who the murderer was. I doubt that was supposed to happen, and when I chose, it showed me all of the messages sent that meant that someone just was killed. After that, it went to the day changer, and then there were no links, and I had no items. I'm trying it in freestyle mode but it's not working. Am I doing something wrong?

Haha, restart. That, my friend, is the buggiest storygame on the site by far. There's like hundreds of scripts going on at alllll times, try other things, eventually it will work but there are certain combinations that just messed with it for some reason.

I should have learned scripting a bit better before I made that, haha.

I'm not surprised... I've found hundreds of them, like having no options after getting a private message from a trophy screen, and having my game win a contest and be featured, then get user trophies from it, and then there is nothing. Eh.

Yeah, but it helped me learn and I'm quite good at it now.

Okay, I'll retry it. Hopefully it will work this time.

Am I supposed to get that message in the game? When asked who the killer was, is that supposed to appear on the last day? Or something like that?

Yeah, it's supposed to happen near the end.

Okay... I tried getting the rest of the messages in Freestyle but nothing has happened... and after a while, it lags when I'm rating stories but otherwise, good game! Maybe try to fix the bugs sometime because you said you know the scripts a lot better now.

Yes but fixing them would involve re-writing EVERY script because I don't remember how I put them in. Chances are, I would create a whole new set of errors. If you're interested in seeing how far I've come from there, check out my favorite storygame of mine: "The Order of the Midnight Sun."
