I received this message from a new user and replied accordingly. However, as it directly affects the beginning of the story, I put it here in case there was any confusion for others. (I've never received a comment like this before, but I want everyone to understand how to play.)
QUESTION:
I picked the Bruiser trait before adding Endurance, and it resulted in me dying immediately.
Yours was the first game I tried to play on this site. It's not apparent that the ornate C with "Character Sheet" underneath is an item and is what you are referring to when you say "be sure to pick up your character sheet." There's no reason to think that there would be an inventory item on the character stat selection page, especially since the item is supposed to represent that very page.
Yes, I'm new to this site, but I think these two things should be easy to make more intuitive.

Thanks for the constructive criticism. I can understand that you might have had difficulty understanding how to play the stories and the games on this site. A good place to start if you are confused about inventory items is our extensive help file system. They explain how to use items in games. Any game on the site that uses inventory items assumes you have a working knowledge of how to play the games here.
I believe that I mentioned on the front page that was a bug I had not fixed, but I will check again.
