Player Comments on Crown the King
Very, very railroaded. Few choices are real choices, and the ones that are don't make sense. Apparently, the person putting on my dress is an assassin who will choke me to death unless I pick the magical [spoiler]-colored dress, but if I pick that dress, she decides to let me live? If I wake up, assassins kill me, but if I sleep through it all, I guess they mistook my snoring for being dead already?
Long story short, the events that occur in a storygame need to at least partially be the result of the player's choices, and your choices in this game do not determine the outcome; the author's idea of "right" (which is impossible to determine without magic) does.

So the only way to get a good ending is to 1.) Be a bitch to your maids, 2.) sleep in like a lazy slob on your brother's big day, 3.) mumble a half-assed apology to him, and then 4.) choose a red dress. The good ending in question isn't related to any of this or to anything involving your character, it just happens that nobody gets murdered that go round.
It's generally expected that a protagonist's actions drive the plot, or at least have something to do with the outcome. You get randomly murdered a lot and the most meaningful choice you get in any of it is what color dress to wear.
Events also contradict each other quite often. Assassins are either coming immediately to your room as the game begins, or your maid is trying to kill you, or because you did something unrelated those things suddenly aren't happening at all.
The funniest ending was the one where you slipped in the hallway and popped a tendon, so your family murdered you because caring for a princess with a limp would be inconvenient. The most metal goes to the maid who CRUSHED YOUR RIBS WITH YOUR OWN CORSET. \m/

Already stated many times already, random death is no fun, but the writing is good, keep it up, add more choices and make the results more logical.

"You arrive in the throne room and greet your father with a curtsey. Taking the seat in the throne next to him, the ceremony begins. The king's closest nobles and subjects fill the room and your brother makes his way to the platform dressed in armor where the priest stands. He motions for your brother to kneel, so he does. Derrick lowers his head and the priest places the crown on his golden hair. He stands and turns to the crowd. After some short rituals, a blessing, and a small speech the priest turns to the crowd and proudly announces, "To the king, the royal family, and his subjects...I pronounce to you, King Derrick.""
What? That's it? I don't get to play ruling people?! Boring...

"Make decisions"? Seriously? I don't think any decisions really mattered in this story.
As some of the other comments say, how the heck does the color of a dress you choose has anything to do with whether you die or not??

This was pretty boring and linear I don't see how a dress can decide if I live or die.

The writing wasn't bad, but there were too many early deaths. Maybe if it was a little more spread out, it would be fine.

A lot of auto-deaths there but the writing was ok. If there were not so many early sudden-death endings people would have more motivation to read it all the way through.

Well it seemed well written however sadly each page was short and almost oll of the choices were random guesses and auto-deaths.

At the beginning it is 'random death choices'. It it short, but okay.

Even if it were worthy of an 8/8, (which it ISN'T) rating your own game five times doesn't exactly help your rep. Don't troll the system.
