Player Comments on Highschool

The story was too short. I feel like it was a good idea at first but came out terribly in writing. The choices make little sense and this is one of those storygames that makes you go back if you don't pick the right choice. These are the worst and most annoying storygames to play and it's tedious to get through so that I can rate and comment. Changing this can help get more reviews and ratings so that you can have better feedback to improve your writing.

The plot wasn't very good, and that is also linked to the choices. It seemed a little random as well, and I wouldn't recommend this to anyone unless I had no other options. This could certainly be improved and become one of the better storygames on the site. It could at least be moved into the better half.

Overall, it's a storygame lacking important qualities and I have no better option but to rate it very low. 1/8, needs work.

Unlike some people I actually read this thing carefully before rating. For instance ThisisBo, the very first line says that "You're a girl named Katie" If thats not telling the readers that the protagonist is a female from the very beginning then I dont know what is. There were very few typos, which is realy rather rare for a game that was made so quickly. The story also had a good amount of humor, or at least I think it did. With all that said there are some short comings. First the story itself is too linear. each time I played it I either got the best possible ending or it started me over. Additionally the game is to short. In the future try to have more pages, more words per page, and more links per page. The other thing I would suggest is having several endings, and I dont mean, "oops you lost" endings either.

That was good! I liked it, this was actually better than the second story. One thing I was annoyed about was that the choice of when you vet to school was only limited to following a random person for you to continue with the story. Keep writinv, don't let the bad comments get you down! 4/8

I think this is a good story but a lot of the time you get grounded or have detention which is a bit annoying. Overall, this is great. Keep up the great work :)

Grounding isn't akin to death-- it doesn't stop your life in its tracks. It makes things more difficult, but you still have to go to school after. And frankly, if an option is just going to lead to a dead end instantly on the first page, it really shouldn't be there.

This actually wasn't that bad at all. There were lots of different routes - once you got past the beginning segment, that is. I found those parts pretty satisfying, and it's fun once you actually reach the good ending.

Up to that point, unfortunately, it can be a bit frustrating. You shout at your brother, you're grounded and game over. You come home with a guy, you're grounded, game over. You wear the wrong uniform, your mum grounds you (???) and...game over. Yeah.

Well, anyway. I liked it but it can certainly be improved.

I can't stand these stories that make you restart if you don't follow a path the authors wants. Kind of defeats the purpose of a CYOA. Either finish the path to a satisfactory ending, even if it's a "death" ending, or cut that path completely.

It was good, not amazing but it was entertaining none the least. A few errors in grammar and spelling but otherwise it was pretty fun.

It's kind of boring and linear.. Maybe you could've added more branches.

This story leans far too heavily to the idea high school is a failure unless you are a cheerleader (or a friend of theirs) and dating sports players.

I litterally ran away, followed random people, and threw stuff at Greg.

Poor grammar, very stereotypical. Bad.

Poorly writing.. A Mix of "me" and "you" from first person story to 3rd... Also it was weird..

i would assume this is a joke but its not funny enough to be one. but it has to be cause if this is a serious attempt at entertainment it is a major fail. besides the uninspired writing(i use the term writing loosely in this stories case) the ending is forced and the content is shallow.

At the beginning, you give us three choices and only one works, then you give us three more choices and only one of them -really- works out... getting grounded is game over, (*sigh* Which I guess makes sense?) and the endings I found just...are not worth the effort. >_> Seriously, best ending is dating a football player and BFFs with a cheerleader? As someone who often says I do not believe in clichés... even _I_ feel like this is cliché.

This is a really nice story! It's short and simple. That's fantastic as your first story! Keep up the great work! :) Great for beginners

Well, it wasn't bad, but I just didn't like the whole highschool cliche of "You'll be happy if you make friends with the popular girls and get the best looking guy in school to go out with you."

Aw, a lot of the decisions sent you back to the beginning. I wish there was a bit more detail but I think there was room for potential ;)

...what? Pretty dull really. Sorry, it sounds rude but this game really wasn't fun. First day at school, random guy passes you notes, random guy 2 talks to you, random guy 2 asks you out, random girl invites you to mall, woo.

It's weird and unrealistic and boring.

As the 'best ending' is being popular with a football player boyfriend, it kinda gives the message that you need to be popular to be happy.

Not all goths are like that. I'm pretty gothic and I don't do sacrifices to the devil and junk. In fact, I'm Christian! A lot of my friends are goth too, and they're not like that either. So yeah, I find this offensive

It wasn't terrible, it just felt like an average movie to me. It had a happy ending, which in of itself isn't bad at all, but the whole "I have a BFF and Jake became a football player" kind of seemed forced. Other than that, not bad.

This felt like a reading of your life story. I'm not sure why, I just get that feeling. I wish my choices had more impact on the outcome of the game. I feel like I kept getting redirected until I picked the option you wanted me to pick. I did not like how random some of the situations seemed to be. Greg seemed perfectly nice, but I ended up randomly making out with Jake in my bedroom and letting him (a total stranger) stay the night at my house? No thanks.

It was okay, but kind of choppy and a bit random.

I recomend this to everybody. I got the best ending possible! It was awsome.

I thought it was alright. In a few pages the perspective on the story changed, it went from "you, to "I" which threw me off a bit.

Then there's the fact that a guy I randomly met on the first day of school came into my room while I was sleeping at night and made out with me.

Sorry, didn't like it very much. My character was forced into a bunch of different situations. Knowing that my character went to the nerdy table and basically caused the game to say "nerds? lame" without even getting the chance to pick up a hardcore D&D player or something rather saddened me. That's the reason everybody plays this game, right? Specifically to pick up a nerd or two? Yes.

I'm afraid I didn't like it at all 3/8. Also, you might want to include the fact that the protaganist is a female from the beginning, its not a huge thing but it helps your readers be a little less irritated.
