Player Comments on Reunion
Reunion is a pretty entertaining story. I do not like it as much as I did Ducky Park, but that’s some stiff competition there, and this was a solid story that I enjoyed.
The humor of the story was more or less spot on, especially in the endings. Dracula was my favorite character by far due to the funny moments he provided. My favorite ending is the one in which he makes tea. It was hilarious and left me in a very uncomfortable fit of coughing and laughing. Another great moment like that is "The Monsters Lounge is a gay monsters lounge." Always knew the Mummy was into some kinky stuff.
The irritation the Invisible Man shows towards The Blob and the creepy kids is pretty great too.
There was some uncomfortable fridge logic with the Invisible Man though. Just WHY was he not wearing clothes? I never saw the movie, but in the book at least his clothes were visible, and he could be seen that way if he was not naked. Rule of Funny is a powerful force, but the thought of someone being at and sitting in an eating establishment without clothes is highly revolting.
As for the story structure, most of the choices did clearly matter, which is good. However, this is where my biggest criticism of the story comes in and the reason I could not give it a higher rating than I did. A lot of the endings were extremely similar to other endings, which makes the story a bit less enjoyable for me, especially when I am reading it in a single sitting and still have to ask myself if I had already made that choice earlier.
Additionally, there are some parts which are clearly copied and pasted from other parts of the story, which becomes especially glaring on one page when we go from the Wolfman swatting a fly straight to choosing what to do with The Blob. That scene is repeated throughout several paths, and usually it is not missing that chunk, but in one branch it is.
Overall, this had some annoying flaws but nothing that truly got in the way of a great story. It also taught me that next time I watch The Blob, I should take a break from laughing at the thirty year old high-schooler and recognize the true terror that is The Blob. While this would certainly not be featured today, it is easy to see how it once was, and it is still a darn good story.
It is a pity that donteatpoop is not around and writing more here, and I will be checking out his featured story sometime soon.

The second of the stories that got transferred over from Infinite Story. Also the winner of the first Infinite Story contest, so not surprising that it got featured over here.
Been awhile since I read this one and while I like Ducky Park much more, I still think this one is pretty funny. Similar style of humor of course. Why this one has dropped so much in ratings I have no idea, but people are retarded I guess.
This one also isn’t a long story, but I felt every character included was fleshed out enough to make reading their fun interaction with each other amusing. Writing was still good and kept my attention.
Interesting choice to make the Invisible man the protagonist, always meant to ask why you chose him out of all the classic movie monsters to do the point of view from.
In any case, I don’t normally like Fan Fiction, but this is one of those exceptions.

Fascinating game! Reunion is a storygame about the classic Universal Studios monsters, characters I'm very much familiar with. Particularly, you play as Dr. Griffin, AKA the Invisible Man. It's been years since you've met with your original cohorts, the other monsters.
The storygame seems to suffer from a case of "cynical protagonist" syndrome. Like many authors of this generation, the protagonist is a cynical, occasional wisecracker with little in the way of personality. "Agh, I hate everyone!" That type of edgelord persona. And while a character isn't bad for having that personality, the lack of discernible personality traits really diminish the experience for me.
The other monsters that appear don't necessarily correspond with Universal Studios, and as such, they usually lack substance as well. However, their status as background characters makes this easily overlooked, especially considering they aren't the focus of the story, but rather Dr. Griffin himself.
Now obviously I won't criticize it for a lack of fight scenes or anything of the sort. This was clearly meant to be a comedic game, a humorous spoof on the silver age monsters and their decline, but nonetheless the conversations and back-and-forth slag between several very cynical monsters sometimes bored me, especially since it became difficult to differentiate them on personality alone.
All in all, Reunion is a great game with a delightful premise, and I sincerely hope you return to make a sequel or something similar. I would love to see this concept explored further, perhaps in a Who Framed Roger Rabbit? type of situation where all movies, regardless of genre, have real creatures/characters that star within them.

Meh. Too much drugs and alcohol for my sheltered brain to enjoy the story that much as a whole, sorry.

This vas a very drastic turn on original horror characters. This was an extremely good idea, modernizing something original like that is a flip of a coin, and to hell you got it spot on.The sheer amount of modern was expected with the standard of keeping the original characters themselves in some way, even giving them there unique personalities from the mummy who had to much of a ‘substance’ to the bar turning out to be more than it seemed.
It was also a bit random, and I love random.I mean who knew the crew were crack pots.Or that the blob would be there!
Either you love old movies or you took the time and effort to make this into a ‘reunion’ of death and destruction and drugs.Normally described as for a drug busting movie rather than about old movie characters.Extremely funny twist. :)
You even added the Children of the Damned.Which makes no sense, even making fun of them with the invisible man.On the contrary of Invisible man, he isn’t exactly a character people would normally use.It was a interesting idea to use a iconic yet forgotten character like this to make this story. This was altogether a diverse story that intrigued me to the bone, especially the length showing you put in a lot of bloody effort.
6/8.Great job, I honestly can’t say anything I hate about this,

should have been an ending with the group of half friends. leaving the party early is something i have never done though, maybe i should try it when things get out of hand like Invisible did.

It was good. But the story has an inaccuracy. Frankenstein is the man who created the Monster, the one you called "Frankenstein" in your story is just known as the Creature or Monster. Also, the Monster is quite eloquent, he doesn't speak in grunts. Here is a quote from the book: "And now, with the world before me, whither should I bend my steps? I resolved to fly far from the scene of my misfortunes.." and "You are in the wrong,' replied the fiend; "and, instead of threatening, I am content to reason with you. I am malicious because I am miserable; am I not shunned and hated by all mankind?"
Just letting you know. I do love your story though.

Some spelling and grammatical errors, but inherently hilarious. I really liked the fact that instead of the monsters reminiscing about their previous escapades and laughing about the good times they used to have, they mostly just partied. A very enjoyable read.

Is it wrong that the whole time I felt like taking scenes from that and making any one of them a Far Side comic? It's so incredibly amusing to think of these monsters acting like somewhat regular people I can't help but wonder what would happen at a barbeque or something. Very good!
