Player Comments on TV Show: Madness of Seal

Ok, I found this game through the random button, since I am attempting to rate and review a random storygame each day I log in. There is not that much that I liked about this game. But I absolutely HATE it when authors say to only leave "positive" feed back. However, I will do my best.

I am POSITIVE that this game is poorly written. The sentences are choppy and there is no character development.

I am POSITIVE that I did not find any of the random craziness funny at all. In actuality it takes a level of skill in writing to carry off randomness properly, and there are several storygames on this site that do a pretty good job of it. This story did not.

I am POSITIVE that there is not much branching in this story at all. What choices there are do not really affect how the story progresses. The author does acknowledge this on the description. However, when the branching is weak (or in this case nonexistent), the STORY needs to be solid to carry it.

I am POSITIVE that I had to force myself to finish reading this story. Looking at the player ratings it seems I am not alone. At the time of this review: Played 988 times (FINISHED 133). Even though this story is short, less than 14% of people finish it.

I am POSITIVE, that I should have just pushed the random button another time and passed this up.

However, I am also POSITIVE that there are worse games out there. If you are bored, at least you can click your mouse button while reading through it.

This story made me laugh several times and was fun to read the whole way through. There were some problems with tenses, but I didn't care because I loved the fun simplicity of it, brain therapists named Mr. T (I think I once said any story with Mr. T is good), and the main character's attitude of taking it all in stride. I had several favorite parts. One was when Seth does not flop in the car, Macky is satisfied, and then giant seal food crushes the car. Reminds me of D. Adams. If Expander didn't do much, you are a great writer at 9 years - I can only imagine how you'll be as you get older. Thanks!

This was... very poorly written to say the least. For a choose your own adventure it didn’t work at all. I understand that you weren’t really going for choose your own adventure, but it was still just as boring, anyways.
I think you were going for comedy, but the jokes fell kind of flat and it’s almost like you were writing for an audience that couldn’t be any older twelve years old. Jokes like this aren’t really my taste, which is more a fault of my own for reading this, but I thought I’d drop some constructive criticism, anyways.
And the story wasn’t entirely mind-numbing. There were a few parts that made me breathe a little harder through my nose. You know, when it’s kind of funny, but not nearly enough to make me laugh.

So boring

It gave me the good funny a few times. The randomness of the plot sold me the idea of it being a TV Show--well, a cartoon would be more accurate.

Just absurd. So strange but I cannot say I was not entertained. I did feel like most of the pages only had one link, or if there was too you're forced back to the first one again. Also I had no clue what was going on for the most part but this story made me laugh and so for that I am pleased.

What can I say that hasn't already been said? A few chuckles, but not very long.

Ha Ha.XD Loved the randomness of the story. It just needed a bit more explanation and character development. You can have those things and still have a random story. This story is not for everybody. If you are looking for something deep, with meaning, then this is not for you. The brilliance of this story is its charm, which is utter crazy randomness. If you're not a fan of that, or simply not in the mood for that, go elsewhere.
