I'm working on a story and I'm using third person limited with one point of view character. Is it possible to, in essence, add a pov character partway through the story without it being jarring to the reader?

I mean I realize you can't make assumptions about the comprehension skills of your readers, but this is done all the time in regular fiction.

There's no reason you can't use multiple third person limited POVs. Just signal it to your reader.
