I tried, but only got myself killed. I wish it was more clear on when the villagers would return, but the deer sign kinda'-sorta' saved it.

Not much of a story, I agree with fleshnblood. Lots of island books have plots, primates. For instance, Gulliver's Travels is an excellent book with a great plot. If we heard more about the village, why they're there, why some savage villagers have metal deer signs near them, great. Since we don't, though, it doesn't make a lot of sense.
