The Object v2 - Known Bugs have been Fixed

You are one of the scientists examining an Object. The research is a joint government/military project, and you and your collegues have no idea where the Object came from. Your only orders are to examine it and find out what it is, and what it does. Each day you perform repetative tests on it, such as zapping it with lasers or bathing it in gamma radiation, but the Object just sits there doing nothing. Then one day, something wierd begins to happen.

This is my first published ChooseYourStory story. I just had a story idea and thought I would add some interactivity to it, though there isn't much interaction in this, so it's pretty linear. However, there are three spots in the game where you could die.

Although I found it exciting at parts, the ending I received was a bit boring and doesnt describe the object or the dream sequences, which was a big let down after all the hype and build up. Also not many choices or many different stories can be encountered in this story. It had a lot of potential but ultimately a waste of time.

Interesting. Leaves it off at a bit of a mystery. Makes me wonder if there was a way to get an explanation if you play it differently, but as far as I can tell you can't. The only ending is the 'mysterious' ending.

I must say, it left me a little unsatisfied, but didn't leave me desiring a sequal, but an explanation.

Great story, tsmpaul. Extremely creative and clever in the way it reads through. The small amount of choices didn't really matter as the story was so good, and the limited choices actually made perfect sense in the confines of this particular story. Excellent job! This is one of my favorites.

It feels loose and unfinished. Is there supposed to be some kind of continuation somewhere or what?

I'm trying to avoid spoilers, so here goes...

I really like the looping effect! Having - or should I say "getting" - to figure out each place before moving on is satisfying. I also like how the places are connected: it increases the mysterious atmosphere. And having memories and objects transfer from place to place is another touch of intrigue.

The ending I got was perfect. I haven't played through to any other endings yet, but your story's style lends itself to several equally satisfying conclusions, instead of being locked into only one "winning" ending among several "loss" or "failure" outcomes.

Given that this is your first publication on CYS, I'm impressed! (Honestly, I'm impressed regardless.) I look forward to reading more of your stuff!

Very interesting game, and it has the potential to repeat itself, so that ought to deserve an 8. Any how, hope there will be a sequel that live up to this one. The object could be a material that could be used as a time machine once fully charged and obviously it floats around in time once fully charged. ;)
