Is it possible to be able to ahve a voting system in the forum. So if I wanted to... ask who would win Ninja's or Pirates, I could create a poll and people just click Ninja or Pirate, and it will tally up who's winning? it would be good for other things also, a bit of fun more than anything. I understand it may be hard work for little gain though.

Oh it could also be used for games, say if the adjuticators narrow a comp down to 3 games - the public could vote for the one they like.... their would be isses stopping people voting heaps, and someone voting for themselves.. but anyway.

I'm open to having Polls, but I don't like user-created polls. I've seen sites that do them, and I don't like 'em. Cause they just lead to totally off-topic and stupid questions.

I can see where he is coming from. and in most cases that is true. however I am asking for it puerly on a fun add to the forum way, and so it will be off topic but it doesnt matter to much. it may make some things easyer, and slow down some of the spam too.

If so, the best place for it would be in the general forum, in a subsection (like accepted and completed ideas).

that is kind of what i was thinking. I was open to having the option in all forums, but there could be a section for poll's.

I like polls (when they have a meaning) so I would like to see this.

Well yah, I quess that could fill up some free space on the sidebar.  Polls are awesome, I just don't want every topic to be about them.

Yea, It was suggested to hvae poll's once before, Nate, and Havy I think have both requested it before, in a slightly different way to me, but as alex say's say these things if you want them, its just another vote for them. I want pols that users can create in the forum, I think the other 2 wanted them for more administrative purposes.

So far the reason's for not having polls, from what I can gather are... not enough user's to make them worth while, and what questions would be asked, none of th admins like polls, alex said they cheapen the site. it's got alot against it.
when Havacoman suggested it, alex said it was too low a priority with the current schedual.
So does any one have any reason's why we SHOULD have polls?

Yes, but I think that it would help reduse it in a good way, if people want to explain something they will, but if its yes or know, they can use the poll rather than everyone having to post  small yes and knows. I think it woul dbe good if the polls were linked to a topic, so you can vote, as well as make a post if you want.
