Hello, my name is James, also known as Derek Metaltron. I'm here in part because I'm developing what is likely to be a rather ambitious but fun CYOA inspired by Telltale Games (since it will feature dialogue and difficult choices in a similar way to how Telltale does) and based on the character of Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man. The hope is that I can get what I plan to be the first of six episodes up before the year is up on here, Inklewriter and via Quest on Text Adventures. I have a couple of other ideas for games too but this is likely to be my focus for now.

Thanks! I'm hoping to come up with something at least fairly coherent if you're a fan of Marvel and Spider-Man, so here's to that.

More of a Deadpool guy myself.

Fair enough. I haven't quite decided if Deadpool is likely to appear, though I have several X-Men characters in mind for the story I have planned.

Just as long as Spiderman is the main attraction.

Well yes, the hope is whilst you have the wider Marvel Universe involved (since the plot is Civil War, effectively) there's also a focus on Peter, MJ, May, the Daily Bugle and ideally a good usage of Spidey's impressive rogue gallery!

I will mention -- if you are planning six episodes, I do hope each will be of decent length and will stand alone. In general, a six-episode story takes a great deal of planning and writing. If you write just a few pages and call that an episode, expect very poor reviews!

Thanks! I hope to be reasonably active, work and video games and the lure of Netflix permitted.

The hope is that each episode is fairly extensive, yes! I have a core basic map of the whole thing written out since I started planning it in April, and a more indepth one for Episode 1 and core structure for Episode 2. Episode 6 might be redesigned slightly as I have thought about making the villains more significant, though. Episode 1 is structured into six chapters and a conclusion (with each chapter involving on average two sequences, or in some cases a in-depth single one). I am not expecting the thing to be done entirely (ie. all six episodes) until some time in 2018, I think!

Woohoo, Spider's my fave (except for the fact that they keep redoing his series). I love the original.

Thanks, he's definitely my favorite super hero as well (least when he's not agreeing to deals with Satan COUGH#ONEMOREDAY#COUGH). The Spidey in this game is definitely a matured version of the classic, married to Mary Jane and has been Spider-Man for something over a decade as he lives in Avengers Tower with his Aunt May (who now knows his secret).

Oh cool. I read the first page of your story (sneak peek it if you don't want people to view it). It has much promise. Keep working.

That's fine, its basically an intro in the vein of CYOA openings, but I'll bear that in mind! I've had tons of inspiration for this story between the comics, Telltale Games for dialog, Dragon Age 2 for crafting a sort of personality for your Peter - is he diplomatic, constantly wise cracking, more direct and aggressive? - Fire Emblem Fates, CYOA books and the like.
