Dust off a seat and discuss a good book here...you do read, right?

has anyone read this comic? ive only read some online here and there, but i think its hilarious. its basically a group of nerds playing a DnD type RPG at a dinner table. 2 of the guys are dumber than bricks.

my favorite so far is when the Game master describes a Gazebo. the 2 dumb players dont know what a gazebo is so they start attacking it lol. but they cant kill it. i nearly cried laughing. if you know what im talking about, tell me if you know some good places to find them online. for free of course. :)

Heh, I used to buy that comic regularly. I still buy it when I can find it.

Here's a link that you can find some of the webstrips. You can also buy the books from here too.

I love that comic!  Used to have a subscription, but the gamestore I got them from closed.  The gazebo is a classic.

Yeah, Kenzer's website is the only place I know of that runs the strips for free.

They actually made a rulebook etc, for Hackmaster.  It's a lot like D&D, but more fun (imo) -- but Kenzer just lost the license from TSR/WoTC, so they'll have to change everything if they reprint.

I have every single issue in my house ALL OF THEM, my dad has a subscription, unfortunately I'm not up to date with it

P.S. The gazebo issue is legendary at my house "It's still not dead?!?!"

sweet, so others have not only heard of this comic but have read many of them. thats good. my next questions:

which character do you like the most?

other than the gazebo debacle, what other great stories do you remember from the strip? (ive only read a few free webstrips so i dont have all the knowledge of them.)

when it comes to gaming, which character is most like you?

I don't know if you've come across Sara yet, but since she's the smartest player probably her
also I actually DM sometimes and have the same problems B.A. does, so I'm probably most like him

how about you?

i like brian the most probably. hes the intell of the group it seems. hes very wise in the ways of the hackmaster.

i dont know of another story that really had me rolling, however on the one website it shows a racing simulator game that cracked me up.

i am probably most like dave or bob in my gaming. i love to just run in and hack! not very tactful.

There are a lot I like, I wouldn't even know where to begin since the issues are up into the 130s now!

Favorite character: I'd say Brian is one of them. Mainly because they developed him into a deeper character than the rest. There was one storyline where things with him were getting a little creepy. I sort of wish they elaborated on that little bit, but they got some complaints about the storyline getting too dark.

Some of the funniest ones are the non-Hackmaster related ones. Like they're playing a board game or doing something a little different.

I usually like any strip where it focuses on the Black Hands gaming group. They're really cut-throat with each other and their GM is more authoritative.

Patty's Perps is another gaming group that they focus on sometimes as well. They're probably a little less dysfunctional than the other two groups.

I looked at the free comics, what a funny comic! If I see a copy, I'll try to remember to pick it up.

I'm totally Sara.  I'm in one group where I don't think we've actually rolled any dice in over six months, because we got so into character development.  My general RPG style is viewing it as a cooperative storytelling experience, rather than a competition between the GM and the players.
