I was eventually able to beat your wandering monsters on my own, without reading your spoilers page, but it took awhile, even when I had good health going into the wild, a full waterskin, and the bread. My success really hinged in the end on random luck of whether I got a spring page or an early trip to the next city.

I didn't find the dragon sickle until my last play through. I kind of figured the stones would work a little better than the charm as a weapon, and I didn't want to be a dick and throw it away as soon as she gave it to me. That's how things worked out for me anyway.

One of the things on the so-called "spoilers" page was how to avoid monsters xD
