A Writing Challenge

This isn't a contest or anything. It's just a friendly challenge, to write a good-quality fan fiction for one of the following games:

  • Easy: Cookie Clicker (there is technically a "lore")
  • Medium: Geometry Dash (blegh)
  • Hard: Flappy Bird (ew kill it with fire)
  • XTREME: Pong (I want to see someone do this :) )
  • You get the point. Try it out if you feel like it. smiley

I might write a backstory!

May I ask what "lore" did cookie clicker ever have?

The whole "cookieverse" thing with the portals, and the Grandmapocalypse.

Darn, I was hoping this would be a contest.

Pong? Hmm...

A fan-fiction storygame, or just a fan fiction?

A pong storygame.

Pong actually sounds easy. Hell, I've SEEN Pong fanfiction before. xD And it's the only one on here I'd be willing to try.

Horribl(y Good) Fanfiction Contest

DO NOT REPLY!

Fine... :)

This is a casual storygame writing contest focused on the stuff I said above. The due date? January 21st. (These are supposed to be quality, so I'll give you a little time.) You can submit them, however, whenever you wish.

You will receive a score out of 100 from me about how good your story is, as well as:

-10 extra points for making a Pong fanfiction

-15 for making a Flappy Bird fanfiction (actually I once made an erotic GD fanfiction to troll the hell out of people and we'll leave it at that)

-20 for making a Cookie Clicker or Geometry Dash fanfiction

Some additional other rules:

-The point boosts above only apply if your storygame recieves a 75+ rating initially.

-A story about someone playing said game is not allowed.

-Your storyline must have over 4/8 length.

-Have fun!

Get to writing!

Easy: Flappy Bird,
There are graphics that genuinely depict an obvious conflict that literally anyone can build anything around.
Medium: Geometry dash,
Probably. I've never actually seen it.
Hard: Cookie Clicker,
There IS an established canon, there IS an established (albeit vague) ruleset for people to follow. Creative liberties are restricted. Not by much, but it's the closest thing to 'Hard' on this list.
EASIEST FUCKING THING: Pong,
No storyline, nothing to go off of, three things and a line that could be literally any fucking thing. You could write an allegory for the Russian Revolution in the form of space tennis, you could write an episode of Star Trek in which Khan and the Enterprise are attempting to steer the WMD away from areas of strategic importance. Hell, you could be fucking politicians playing a physical representation of the blame game after a humanitarian disaster, and that's just off the top of my fucking head! This is the absolute EASIEST FUCKING SUBJECT TO FANFIC IN THE ENTIRE LIST! There are no rules, the freedoms in this "world" (if it can be called that) an author can take are fucking limitless.

Regarding Pong: That was what I meant by it sounding easy. :P

What, you mean I was supposed to read the thread? Kiel, you know how much I like yelling! I would rather object to the OP loudly and vehemently than establish context and avoid redundancy any day!

xD I know. I like pointing out that people should read.

I think all of these have aspects that can make them "easy." For example in cookie clicker the story can simply be about someone baking some cookies and something goes terribly wrong. Flappy bird can be turned into a drama about a bird's struggle to survived with a crippled wing. All of these games are simple with little to no story. Which opens up many possibilities for spin-offs.

Which is my point. Less story = Less challenge, not more. If you want a difficult fanfic to write, then write a fanfic about Game of Thrones, not app toys.

And like GMB said. This wasn't intended to be a contest. Just a little friendly challenge.

Point taken. I changed it.
