I believe so, for now I feel like the best bet is to just have one basic branch fully set out (with different options that eventually lead to the same path, gauntlet-style). If I run out of time then it'll just be more of a linear story with not as much replayability, but if I can get the basic path done with plenty of time left then it gives me more time to add more branches that shift based on the variables (e.g. another character attacking you if your relationship goes below a certain level). I'm also considering having a health-based system where certain choices will reduce your health but not committed to that yet

Branching for Chapter 1 all done now. One challenge I've faced is how to incorporate some different directions in the story without the story getting too long to realistically complete. (for instance, two directions where one of two different characters die in chapter 1 would lead to different branches for the rest of the story based on who is still around). So my plan is to have each chapter play out where either that character will die (or you die if you make some bad choices). And then when the basic branching is all done for each chapter, then I can work with the variables potentially so that you get different choices (or results for your choices) depending on what your relationships are like with different characters. That's where my head is at for now, I'm glad I have 3 months to write this story as I'm definitely going to need it for not just the writing and editing but also making all the scripting work.

Not sure yet, some of the pages will be a bit repetitive due to the nature of my story but there'll definitely be some longer pages for interactions between the characters or when a major event happens. I fell off with the writing the last couple of days so I'll get back to planning out a bit more of the story before bed. If I can get Chapter 1 all set out with all the different choices and their consequences that will be great :)

Now 58 pages and up to branch 8 of Chapter 1. Will likely start rounding up the chapter with the next 3-4 choices so that the story isn't over 3000 pages lol
