Player Comments on InSaNiTy: A Jeff/Jane The Killer Story

Now I'm just thinking about a girl repeatedly stabbing a dead body and every time the knife goes in a very loud SPLAT just echoes and I lose it every time.

Anyway, it was really short. Many storygames here have plenty of potential but people lose interest and that just ruins everything. At that point, you're holding an idea somebody could use and make a better storygame out of it. It's also pretty linear, but it's actually not too bad in that area. More options would make it more fun and also longer, so you're killing two birds with one stone.

The writing itself was decent, although quite choppy. Nevertheless, it was a fun, short read. I gave it a 3/8, but I could see it being rated higher after a few revisions.

Uh... I don't even know what to say. This book was EXTREMELY short, and had many grammatical errors and many possibilities to die. You didn't really describe the deaths, you just said: SPLAT and there wasn't even an exclamation point. I think that you could have done a better job.

hmm. i'm not sure how to respond to having this be a thing.....but i'm glad i get to kill somebody. *smirks* Especially if it's Jeff's target.

I think I got ze lame ending...

It has pretty good writing and enough choices to keep me invested in the story. But it was lacking one big thing: Feelings!

Showing what the character feels is what makes readers give them their empathy. In this there is only description and doesn't show what goes on inside the character's mind enough. And also the appearance of Jane/Jeff the killer is kinda random and I couldn't see any motive for them coming after my character. Though maybe I didn't see it in the path I took. But anyways a good enough game to deserve an average rating. 4/8.

The whole game could have been really fleshed out, so that all the endings weren't just me dying and it actually gave some answers to Jane and Jeff and why they wanted to kill people. It's an okay start, but nothing more than that. 3/8.

The player character's name changes from Leo to Leon halfway through.
Things that might sound okay spoken out loud, like the digression about your dog's name, don't really translate well to a written story.
