Player Comments on Internets: The Dark Abyss
This game, although very dated, was pretty entertaining. I enjoyed playing through it and seeing where the story would go. It was humorous, a little random at times, and did a good job of telling a story.
It was funny to see references to the long gone days of getting online. Until reading this story, I had locked the trauma of trying to get online to AOL via a dialup modem way way back in my subconscious, so I will blame my nightmares about this on this storygame.
The game had many choices and paths to take. As others have said, it would have been nice for these to give an ending rather than loop back to the start.
Overall, a fun game and nostalgic for those who were around in the dark ages.

Indeed, this is an old story. And yes, it is quite dated at this point in time. At the same time, it is interesting to see how much even the Internet has changed over time. There are many, many inside jokes and memes that appear that almost need to have references set up at this time. I remember when “algore invented the Internet” was said on a daily basis – today I’m not sure the majority of Internet users have a clue who that could be (or even care who invented the Internet).
I do like that the storygame starts out with choices. The first page has good information and leads the reader into the story (even if they don’t understand the words that are being used because they’re technologically obsolete). I also like how the choices, even on the first page, make a difference in the story. Different things happen if the reader picks different choices: that’s a great feature for a choose-your-own-story game! Of course, the “wrong” choice does lead you back to making the “right” choice.
I did not like, as Saika pointed out, that when you ended up with a “wrong” ending, that you had to go back to the start. Sure, this ensured that the reader found many of the paths through the story – but only because that means there really is only one path to the end of the story! It took a little bit of clicking through to finally figure out the correct path – this would have been a lot stronger if each of the endings were an actual ending to the story! In fact, if you wanted to get creative, you could have applied a score to each of the endings and the readers who commented (and the author) could see which ending they received.
Overall this is certainly a fun story with good writing behind it. I would suggest the author continue to write and make stories to share, but I don’t think they’ve visited the site in over 10 years. Well it was a fun story anyway, I hope the internets didn’t get him…

Wow. AOL?? Oh boy, this IS old.
I don't know if many people reading this today will pick up the many references and memes scattered throughout this story, but for me it was one huge nostalgia trip. I really liked it and the humour was great.
My only wish is that you had turned your endings into...well, endings. Allow the player to end the game there. Don't force them to start over every single time, because nobody wants that. Your writing style is great. Just stick to multiple endings next time.

Pr0n, yeah sure...
Decent story. Plot was okay, your use of the Internet was okay, the humor was great, and the length was not too short as well.
However, you have over here a myriad of microgrammatical errors. It doesn't really consist of fun when these little flaws keep popping up just about everywhere.
Not the best, simply not the worst. 5/8.

While I enjoyed the many endings, I did not like how it made me start over. I stopped reading and clicked choices so I could finally comment.

I think this story is severely underated. I think the style of comedy is hilarious. I don't mind the linear story, and the deaths were funny as hell. The comedy is very accurate to describe the internet.

The spelling and structure was a bit off, and the story was rather linear with possible winning pathes. However, it was good fun to play through, and was actually entertaining throughout. Good job, good sir!

This rulez!
I couldn't find it out in the begining.
I thought that this game would keep on going but I got the PERFECT rating and some sugestions:
1.Go to Newgrounds, Put a link "Search up Xadali" on that part.
2 links. 1-Click the first suggestion. That leads you to a game which leads to a screamer (If you don't know what a screamer is, go to Newgrounds, search Subliminal Messages, and click the firt thing without reading the reveiws, and watch it. The Queen one is freaking hillarious!)
2-Never mind it. Go to Google ( which might have a link to go to Google Video whick leads 2 2 things.
1-Type in ghosts (which leads to a screamer called GhOsT CaR with a pic of somebody screaming ((not too scary, I have heart problems...))-)
2-Go Back to newgrounds. (A link going back to Newgrounds.
That is really all I have.
Oh and DBTT
and
(If you don't know what a screamer is, go to Newgrounds, sea
