Player Comments on Broken Wings

I really don’t know why I decided to read this instead of a more recent story, but this one really isn’t terrible.

As some of the comments mention, it is a little weird to have a family friendly game that seems like it might be aimed toward children where all you can do is be a bird, flail hopelessly, and die. I definitely checked, and there isn’t any good ending or survival. This didn’t really bother me, and I suppose it didn’t say anywhere that this was supposed to be a children’s game, so what do I know?

It’s obviously very short, but I think these kinds of animal perspective games tend to be. I don’t think that I enjoyed reading it, but it definitely wasn’t bad. There is a level of writing competency that makes it easy to read, and the concept is interesting enough that I kept reading it, but really, after you experience one ending there’s no reason to keep reading it.

All in all, I definitely don’t regret reading it, and I think it’s short enough that nobody’s really going to hate it.

You did a really good job fleshing it out, and I could really feel for the bird, and feel sad and bad about what happens to it.

This storygame has an interesting plot, and although it was short, I liked the writing and the style of the author. I would read more from this author in the future.

That being said, I found this storygame to repeat itself a bit, which is a bit annoying and boring, but I guess it was still a good read overall.

Like some of the other comments say, it was inspiring. I really want to grow wings and injure one of them and then go on this adventure to see what it's like xD

I liked this game, it was sad and nice to see things realistically from a wounded animal's point of view. Within it's limits it was a good short-story game :)

It's a tale of heartbreak, of abandonment, of false love, of false hope. I understand the bird's pain, it's quite a beautiful story that doesn't receive the praise it deserves.

It's poetic, perhaps some people don't understand that with such a low rating... it deserves higher.

Yikes. This story is short but hits you right in the feels. Almost every ending ends in death, and the only other option seems to end in implicated death (I think).

It's not that I have no heart, it's just I don't see how this is sad.

Whaaaaa. Only one ending where you don't die! Did you know: Happy ends do exist!

the owner might have thought he was doing the right thing by putting the bird out of its misery.but not realizing its misery would end when it was with its owner.

But why? WHY? There was no reason to die...

Aw...It was a little short and I noticed you used 'thought' four times in a row in the first four sentences which almost made me not bother to read it but other than that...Good Job :D

Well that was depressing. D: Nice story though, even though it was linear, it felt more like an inevitable death rather than if not a, then b. So sad, you captured the essence of the story quite well. Good job!

Stupid ending

Well told. It's kind of short, but length does not make a good story. It's the writing, situations, characters and story itself that do. On the ending I arrived at (being eaten) you should have left off the, "and then you die." part, as I think it would have left a better impact. 6 out of 8.

I hop pretty fast, so I was a little suprised I couldn't hop away. This story might have been better if it were a bit longer.

I liked it. Not the best story, but a fair game, good even. I think you got the feeling you went for. Could have been longer, but I appreciate it for what it is. I look forward to seeing some longer works.

Too short, too easy to die (kind of random deaths too). And I don't think there's a happy ending. At least I didn't find one. Overall, I agree with JMGskills.

The writing style was interesting(Kind of poetic at times) and there were some nice details in there. Some parts of it were lacking though. First, kind of short. Second, you tended to repeat yourself a lot. Third, really depressing(It would have been nice to have one happy ending.)

Overall, I think it could have been better, but I think you did an ok job.

Well i think i found the right ending but nearly all of them were depressing. Still i like the writting style.

Sorry about the whole "one real ending" thing, haha. I was trying to get "no matter what you do, your life will sort of suck sometimes" message across.

Good:
1. Grammar and spelling
2. Mood nicely set- kind of "artsy" imo

Bad:
1. Very short
2. No frills or interesting devices

Ugly:
1. Very linear- there was really only one "real" ending
