Story Pre-Release (Contact: Empire)

Hello everybody,

I would like to start with saying how much of a great outlet this forum is for creative expression through interactive stories, and how appreciative I am to be apart of it.

I've had great moments reading through stories on this forum, with my favourites being Eternal and Achilles, both great stories.

Anyway, I am here to talk about a new story I am in the development stages of now that I plan on posting on this website.

Contact: Empire is a game I have been brainstorming for around a year now to go along with my Diploma of Digital and Interactive Games that I am currently studying. It will be based around Humanity as a species having first contact with an Alien species known as the Ausr, which will then branch forward into control and expansion of Humanity.

This story would include things such as space and planetary warfare, politics and espionage, trades treaties & alliances etc etc.

Because of how entertained stories on this site have kept me, I plan on making this a very long story with lots of endings all completely different,  and try to entertain the users on this site like they have done for me.

So, if you guys were to have a new story released based on these themes, is there anything you feel like you would need to see for it to be appealing? Be it descriptive story telling, romance, lore, character development, events going on around you etc, things you might of felt other games have lacked in the past.

I want to be able to put some sort of technology and research into the game as well but I am unsure if it could be implemented onto the website yet.

I've moved this to The Writing Workshop. The Parlor Room is for discussing published and complete CYOAs on the website.

Thanks for the compliments!

As far as recommendations, my biggest one is that you should try to design a world where the reader has maximal impact. The decisions we make should echo throughout the pages of the story and we should see little easter eggs and large-scale repercussions of our actions.

Honestly, this is the one thing left from your 16 year-old self I've seen (and still like XD)

Yeah I was thinking about ways to implement it so the repercussions of your actions are very vast, as having games where the ending is basically the same really gets on my nerves as a gamer also lol. Mass Effect being the best example.
