Self-promotion... is it allowed? Where to post? on 8/29/2015 9:11:53 PM

Thanks for this! I went ahead and posted about it in the Parlor Room, since I'm not really still seeking advice on the writing at this point.

On Kickstarter: The Good, the Bad, and the Undead on 8/29/2015 9:11:06 PM

Hi All! I'm a longtime lurker as well as reader and writer of interactive fiction. My interactive novel "The Good, the Bad, and the Undead" is on Kickstarter now. (Just one day left at this point... sorry for the late notice...)

But if any of you are interested, there's still time to go and grab  yourself a copy! It's a western horror... I like to describe it as "Clint Eastwood meets Night of the Living Dead." Regarding what style of interactive narrative it has, it's definitely more book than game. There are no game mechanics at all, just story decisions. It's also unique in that it's written in third person, and you switch between several POV characters throughout the story.

Here's a link to a gameplay demo, if you want to check it out: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5ODM0C0gB6oWTl6TzdlcVFaUlU/view?usp=sharing

And here's a link to the Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ashtonsaylor/the-good-the-bad-and-the-undead

And in case you miss the Kickstarter, you can follow us on Facebook to keep up-to-date on when you can get it through normal channels: https://www.facebook.com/goodbadundead

Thanks, and fair travels!

Hi all! I'm a writer and blogger of interactive fiction. I write a lot, I just don't usually do it here. But I've read a lot of the stories and been lurking for years.

Anyway, I'm working on an interactive fiction novel that's currently on Kickstarter to raise money for art. I think it may be of interest to some of you, but I don't want to be that rude guy coming in being like, "Come check out my stuff! Oh yeah, I don't actually care about any of you!"

So yeah... just wondering, is there interest? Should I piss off? If I should share more info, which forum is best for that? I've never really been a big forum user in general, so still feeling out etiquette.

Yes! That was it! Right... now I remember. For some reason I decided to make up a new username this time, rather than using one of my standard ones. My bad. I'm checking and... yes, I do remember the password. I'm in! Story recovered! Thank you all for your help. This issue is now resolved.

Thanks for your attention, everyone. Sorry to have not stayed on top of this right away. I tend to work in bursts and be very absentminded in the meantime. The name of my old story was A Healer's Promise, or maybe just Healer's Promise. I didn't have so much done on it, but I really liked what I did have. Thanks for all the answers, and thanks in advance for any future help you can give. I feel very stupid that I lost my old account. Thanks again =)

Hi, I started a storygame on here several months ago. It was never made public, just a work in progress. I wanted to come back to keep working on it, but I can't remember what account it was under. I tried everything I could think of. Then I tried making a few new accounts, hoping to figure out which account I had by testing which new accounts could be made--but every new account I tried was successfully created, indicating that no previous accounts exist under those names. Do old accounts get deleted? If my account was deleted, would the story that I had started under that account have been deleted, too? I really liked that story... Are there any other account recovery tools I could use? Alternately, is there an administrative staff who might be able to help me recover my story if I can give them the title of it? I tried emailing using the "Contact Us" link, but the email form broke when I tried to submit it...
