Instead of just having the option where only two people can speak/talk/type privately at one time, how about a feature where multiple people (members of teams for site events, coauthors and author, etc.) can converse privately at the same time?
I think it would work better than just putting an open forum thread that everyone can see, and and would increase the mystery and competition factor of things like the Commander-thing this past summer for the future.
