FORUMS Delete Post

Super original idea. Users should have the ability to delete their own posts if they haven't been responded to yet similar to how editing posts works. It would make things simpler and allow things like double posts and posts that respond to wrong ones much easier to clean up after instead of having a mod delete it. It's practically allows the same as editing, really, just more practical when a post needs to be deleted instead.

You can go ahead and take a point from Ford for this one.

I think this has been suggested.

Take a point from Ford, please. If you're a mod and reading this, please take a point from Ford.

True, but deleting it is a lot simpler and quicker than getting a mod, so why not?

I suppose, but only if there hasn't been a reply.

I'm actually against this. One of the unique charms of the site is that in this regard it has NOT modernized (with easily take back-able post). Means that a person has to be more balanced with their post or risk getting edit locked, ergo this format reduces spam/trashposts. I'd prefer the system stay the way it is.

Mostly because it seems like a strange power to give a normal user. There's not many scenarios where you need to fully delete a post that couldn't be fixed by simply editing the post. If there are, then whoever is posting just isn't thinking enough before they post.

Yeah, and we don't spend too much time cleaning this scenario up. I agree.
