One of the most daunting tasks for me is to save a picture to my hardrive, upload it to the my picture folder, go to my game ,refresh the page and click on the picture icon and put it in.  Can we have it so that you can have a quick link, upload picture from the game maker page popup?

That's a really good idea. I usually end up just deleting the pic from My Pictures and re-uploading it , then going back to the item and changing pic from generic to the new one. Difficult.

OK -- sounds like it's time for My Pictures to be updated.

In .NET, I have more control over the image and can actually resize and reformat it (like if you upload a 1000x1000 pixel BMP, I can conver that to a 500x400 JPG or whatever dimensions are). I think that'd be great for new users.

Also, folders sound like they'll be important: http://chooseyourstory.com/forums/message.aspx?MessageId=539, and I'd like to get some more feedback on that. We can do either FOLDERS or TAGS.

Also, the little My Pictures Gallery on the Rich Text Editor should probably be updated as well to allow user to upload directly in there?

Really all I want is to be able to upload from the game popup.  But, however if by some miracle part of .net we could do it withut uploading at all, that would be best. Although I know that a bout as farfetched ans taking a donkey for an adventure in the ttwilight stars.  Yummy.

The folders idea is also a great one. I am starting to get pretty many pictures, and having folders would be really helpful. What is the difference between FOLDERS and TAGS, or is it just semantic? If so, I like FOLDERS better.

Yes, if you update the gallery on the RTE, it should reflect the folder structure.

Folders are heirarchical, like files on a computer. Only one folder per item. You find stuff by navigating folder tree.

Tags are not heirarchical but you can give an item many tags. You find stuff by specifiying the tags to filter on.

I like forlders better.  Howevr maybe at the top you could have

SHOW ALL PICS, SHOW NEWEST PICS, SHOW PICS BY FOLDERS.

How about the ability to upload a picture on the internet.  All you have to do is put in the URL.  Could that work?  If it did, it'd work awesome.

That's the URL for the Masthead for MAG.  If you notice, it has a .gif at the end.  It dosen't have a .com.

Do you mean only one item per folder? If you can only put one item per folder, I like tags better; easier search/retrieve capabilities. One item per folder would just make people have a ton of folders and it would be the same as a ton of pictures.
