Suggestions for improvements and additions to the site.
This feature was rejected 5/23/2007: military time makes the most sense: implementing individual time would be too difficult.

im curious to know why the forums use Military time while the other areas use the other style. id like it to be either or all the way through the site. personally, i prefer the A.M./P.M. better than military time but ive learned military time in JROTC so its ok either way. but id like it to be universal over the whole site.

I agree. It would be good to have a clock on the site, Because I'm in australia, the times mean nothing to me, if there was a clock I could look at mine and work out how long ago something was. It doesnt matter if you cant, its not a necesity, it would just be helpful.

normal time = military time - 2 (and then add some common sense :P)

15:00 is 3 pm, 15-2 = 13, take the 3 and make it 3 oclock, just a trick!

for 20's, 21:00 is 9 pm, 21-2 = 9, take the 9 and make it 9 pm...

Try looking at a swedish clock in USA?  5PM here is Midnight there.
Yah, umm.... I am one hour off from this clock.
Some site uses Pacific Time.  (West Coast - 3 hours behind this clock)

It's crazy!

Which country started standard time?

Time doesn't matter to me. I have my own clock to look at, and I don't really care when new posts were posted. It might be nice for others though like, Nate. I know how to read the time at least, that's a start for me . I'm sure pretty much anyone else on here does too.

It's easy to figure out. For us here in Australia (east coast) we just subtract 8 hours and add a day from the time on the website. I thought everybody knew military time anyways. Who doesn't?

Although it'd be just that little bit more easier on the mind to see it as PM.

Just always subtract 12, not 2. 13:00 - 12 = 1:00! I'm so used to military time now because they use it in medicine that I set all my clocks to it. After like a week you don't even subtract anymore, you just recognize 16:00 as 4:00. (16-12=4)

I was thinking about this during the week, and I was going to post the exact same thing! If you get really used to it though, you can recognize millitary time without even having to do that.

You only subtract twelve if the military time is 1300 or above.
