Is it possible to make the Editor into a small program, that we can download, we could then save games on our computers, and edit them even when not on the net, and show them to people without having to come online? what do you think.
I dont mind if this isnt possible, I was going to suggest, if this wasnt accepted, that we can print our storys, but then I found out it has been accepted, thanks for that!

And if that's not possible, a way to save a game, to CD or floppy to download at another person's house to show them.

I agree, maybe a way to save it as a word document or something.

then why join mag? that makes the site useless.  then we lose members.

no, because they can't publish a story without being a member. its just to aid those writing storys.

i suggested this long ago and alex said that the coding (back then it was ASP) could not be transfered, but with the change to VB.NET, it could be possible (PLEASE)!!!

Wait, VB.net, as in Visual Basic.net?  I'll be learning that during my second semester (as a freshman).  I can learn how the site works a lot better than otherwise.  Is there anything else other than HTML and VB.net?

Other than that, yah, I know, but there has to be a way.  I mean, the entire editor was changed, and you can soon print out classic games.  Would that not divert traffic from CYS?  No, it would attract some, along with a way to reproduce it with a CD.  Of course, it's up to us to choose how many copies to make, and how much to sell them for (0.00 is still selling).

I get to start Info Tech next year, I think. If it's anything like Hav's, I'll hopefully learn Javascript in it or something.

ha ha...
If you learn javascript in it, it'll be nothing like mine.  I learned javascript by myself.

I walked in to an Info Tech class (during Office Duty, sort of like a thing you do twice a year. Two people do it every day of the year and you just take notes around to classes to avoid constand announcements over the PA), and they were just doing animations and flash and crap like that. What a bummer.

Lol, I did year 12 IT... It was the biggest let down, At the time I was keen to learn some of the programming stuff and all of that, and we did boring crap, it was almost more like a business studies class.

Anyway, the editor download would be awesome. It depends if Alex can make the program or not though.

Sorry guys, this is not very feasible to do; doing this takes a LOT of work.

My recommendation is to spend your time writing and planning your stories off-line, and putting them together on-line
