Page Organizing

Like the title suggests, I would like the ability to organize the pages in stories (while editing them). As of right now the only way to sort them is by creating them in different chapters (which that alone has it's own issues).

So what I think would be nice is if we could "move" pages around, as in re-order them in chapters or even move them into different chapters. By "re-order" I refer to the order they are listed in, since that currently is in the order you create them in and sometimes you don't do everything in order but would like to group them together afterwords.

This would be purely for aesthetics and organization and not actually provide any additional function.

Although I think being able to assign colours to a page for the purpose of organizing would be nice too....

Unfortunately I realize that the idea might be hard to implement, just thought I'd throw it out there.

So if you wanted all of your variable-pages in one area and all the one-linked pages in another area and whatnot?

I would definitly utalize this were it in existance. In my current project ive actually been painstakinly specific in what order i make my pages, i wouldnt have to do that were we able to move the pages around. Of course we could move them in a high effort way by litterly switching the text and names of the pages around and changing out the destination of the links as well as the $DEST scripts.

I really like this idea. My pages are a mess. Also, I think I've heard people ask here and there if there were a way to move pages between chapters because it matters a lot in scripting, and currently the only way to do this would be to copy and paste each thing and make a whole new page (rewriting any script that may have had to do with it in the process). It can be quite time consuming.

I feel like unless you have chapter-wide scripts (which I've never used, ever) then if you know scripting, which chapter your page in is completely irrelevant.

True. But I've heard of people using chapter wide scripts. So it would be a problem for them. *shrug*

Like i said, it would only be for organizing. Sometimes I make a page and later decide it would fit better in another section, or just a different location on the page list, but I can't move it there. It wouldn't actually change anything other than make it easier to organize the pages.

The thing about moving pages to a different chapter, is that it can affect some scripts. But maybe an easy way to do that is to just have a warning, because honestly its not prevalent enough to be that huge of a problem.

Also, someone posted about this feature before (and in the thread I found, it said that it had been posted before that, too)
