Can you please set the refresh timer to every 5 minutes?  It is giving my computer major lag.

Here's the deal:

The refresh timer gives lag to computers especially dialup. If we were to put it for 5 minutes, there would be no point for a refresher, if we were to put it for 10 seconds, the computer would take 3 seconds to refresh every 10 seconds on a t1/dsl connection. If havac is getting major lag, the refresh would probably take 10 sec., refresh since 10 sec had gone by, and continuly refrsh giving ultimate lag. 1 minute is the best choice because it isnt too long nor is it too short. Also, things dont usualy change every 10 seconds, most the time this applies for the 10 minutes. If we wer eto put it for 10 sec, the only thing that you would see refresh and change a lot is the number of guests online.

Ive already talked to alex about this...

Mabey the refresh thing could be optional.  That would be great.  Mabey I'm doing 4 things at once (talk about multitasking) and one of them is MAG.  Every minute on the minute the computer stops for 10 seconds.  How would you get much done.

Optional is a good idea.

I think I have an idea how to fix this without causing any lag. I'll keep this open to try something else out.

Whats that?

Basically, the idea is to do it in the background. Right now it technically isn't being done in the background ...

Allright Mr. Havaco, hopefully you will no longer notice the lag. The update operation has been moved to the background. Let me know if yo ucontinue to have problems.
