Poems and the like

So I assume at least some of you write poems or something similar, how about post some that we've written and exchange some tips.

Here's one I wrote today;

Sometimes I shiver
Don't hand me a jacket,
It ain't what I need
Not that I know.

Maybe it'll help
Can't hardly kill ya
Jackets keep you safe
Wouldn't want you to hurt

Clean, clean you gotta be clean
Bleach it, purge it
Wash it all away
Scrub it, burn it

The jacket might hurt
All wrapped up and warm
All tied up and bound
No more moving in the wrong direction

Just walk, just walk
Maybe run, maybe flee
But always go back
No point in getting back at you

Feel free to post anything you've written and I'll give it a read.

Poems and the like

Here's another one;

Buzzing in the haze
Shimmers in the glare
Ripples in the dust
Cracks in the glass

The sun hates you,
The wind hurts you,
The heat kills you,
The desert mourns you.

In the distance,
Still far off
A figure walks
Along the horizon

You wait here
In the shade.
You are safe here
In the shade.

Time passes,
Wind lessens,
The sun fades,
The sky bleeds.

You rise

The figure has vanished,
Taking hope with it,
Over the horizon
Following the light.

Still you walk
Still you stumble
Still you stand
Still you lie

The sun returns,
So does the figure
Wavering in the distance,
Mocking you.

There is no shade,
No safety,
No respite,
No salvation.

Your body surrenders,
Your mind fades,
Your thoughts run away,
Your memories evade you.

The desert remains
Steadfast and constant
Forever the figure walks
Along the horizon.
