Suggestions for improvements and additions to the site.
This feature was rejected 2/5/2006: What nate said -- it might turn it into a Hunt & Find for readers, who may not understand what to expect. Maybe we can revisit this once a lot of the text scripting is done.

Hidden Links

Idea: Allow links in games that can't be seen, or are in pictures or in normal text!

Pros: Bonus items in advanced games, more ops for scoring

Cons: Some browsers may not display page properly, people may have difficulty winning without bonuses

Uses: Alternate Paths, finding a secret passage, examining places in the story (Cars, dressers, ect.), unlocking extra stuff like a picture gallery

I've been thinking the same exact thing!

Mabey also making a seeable link on the page like this:

Text Link Text

You are in your room.  There is a %%PageId2%link%Dresser%% in your room.

(Links like that would have to have no restriction or change in varibles though)

An interesting idea. My biggest concern is that it will confuse the end users (players) of the stories ... thoughts on this?

Allow the games to users that are member only or inform them what a hidden link is.  Something like that.

That gives me an idea. Allow only certain members to see links...
You can only get this link if your badger... etc.
It would be kinda like co-authors.

The links in the Text field was an idea that i brought up to you a while back alex. i thought of it when playing a GI Joe game in the GI Joe site. it was a text adventure with the links built into the text. the other ideas are great too however, the biggest concern i have is getting too far away from text adventures and going too close to hide and seek.

The hidden links probably wouldn't be needed to win the game, so they would just be used to "enhance" the play experience.
