A place to sit back, hang out, and make monkey noises about anything you'd like.

I'm just gonna leave this here and see if anyone responds..... (hehehe)

Now, let me tell you the story of Jenny, a friend of Jules. She was sweet, kind, truly one-of-a-kind. All I knew was that she had to be mine…

I followed her home from school one day and snatched her up to make her pay. For all the times she had made me cry, I made her hurt and very slowly die…

Jenny had spirit, I’ll give her that! And that prefect bod, not an inch of fat. I made her pay for killing my gnat, who always visited me at lunch and sat on my lap.

I respond.

So was this just some macabre poetry you recently whipped up?

Just a totally random poem/thought that popped into head and wouldn't go away until I wrote it down... Took about a minute to write. I was just glad to let it out as it was distracting my work.... Macabre? I thought it was funny and stupid and random as hell. I have a strange mind lol.

On a side note, you would have to be a screwed up individual to kill someone for killing your "pet" gnat. Who does that? And who the hell writes crazy stuff like that? Oh, wait. Me, duh... smh I'm sleepy.

So, this woman killed her friend for smashing her pet bug? Funny.

Oh, I imagined the narrator as an envious, avenging female.

I guess it could be... I didn't really say one way or the other. But I pictured some chubby fat unpopular fellow whose only friend in the world was his pet gnat. Poor, crazy, fat, psychotic bastard... lol

If you put it that way, then I can see why it is amusing. :)

Watch your meter, now.

It's that last line, huh? Kinda ruins the flow, now that I am reading it again. --But I still think it's pretty decent considering how fast I wrote it.

I've written quite a bit of poetry over the years, though the majority of it was in my teens. Amusing concept, but yeah, the flow needs work, as does the build-up.

Oh wow... you were a teenaged poet as well. I should have guessed. That poem/thought or whatever it was... it was awful compared to any of the poems I wrote as a teen. I just posted because I also found it amusing. My son cracked up when I read it to him. Well, after he asked what a gnat was. Lol. I was actually sitting here debating whether I should attempt to rewrite it or not. I'm really up to working on my story at the moment. My writer's block keeps trying to sneak back up on me...

Yeah. I had a lot of angst to work through--though very little of it actually related to being a teen. I kind of miss it sometimes, I wasn't amazing or anything, but I wrote a few pieces I'm still proud of. I'd show you if you like--not publicly, granted. As for a re-write, if you'd be happy doing one, go for it. Little things like poems and other exercises in writing can be a good jumpstart for when your inspiration is dragging its heels.

I would like that. I have a few I am still proud of as well. I actually found alot of my old one's still on poetry.com. Didn't even know that site was still popular. Granted, I did have to search through their archives as those were published around 15 years ago. (Dam, I'm old lol.) I found them and requested they be removed, thank gosh. I wish I had paid more attention to stuff like that when I was younger.

I think I will try to rewrite that one though, for old time's sake. It so random of an idea, but I think it could work with more build-up as you suggested. I often do find that writing smaller pieces or doing writing exercises does help me get on track. I actually just wrote an article on my blog about writer's block a few days ago, lol.
