tossing story ideas around in my head. What's everyone think is over done? At one time it was vampires, then zombie/a pic stories, then whatever the hell a warrior cat is. What's the new 'over done' story plot?

Swift said dystopian. I was saying 'noted' as in 'I'll keep that in mind.' I'm working some story ideas and don't want to write overdone stories. But I've not been around so just checking.

Horror games that are heavy on the gore, with little to no background given as to what's happening, one character, no dialogue, etc. 

But the 'you wake chained to a wall with out a foot. What do you do?!' Are the best! Lol

I’d argue that it isn’t so much that dystopia that is overdone, it’s dystopia with plucky teenage rebels is overdone.

I dunno; I thought The Road, the Book of Eli, Snowpiercer, and Mad Max would be enough dystopia.

Dystopia and post apocalyptic tend to overlap, but there is a slight difference.

Snowpiercer falls more within the dystopia theme though since it focused more on the society and how dysfunctional it was.

The Road, Book of Eli, and Mad Max are all straight up post apocalyptic. If we're talking about the original Mad Max movie, that one is more "pre-apocalyptic" since it's showing more of the break down of society before the bombs fell.

I feel zombies are still being overused to this day. I would know, I'm writing a zombie story. :P 

If you are referring to stories which are not on CYS then I'd say future dystopian societies. It kinda sky rocketed after the hunger games and Divergent hit the theaters.

Has someone done a story where you actually play AS the zombie?

And not some super intelligent king zombie either. I mean you’re struggling to think about anything else except where you’re getting your tasty brain fix.

At best you could “evolve” into some higher thinking zombie that can manipulate a door knob or pick up a hammer. Maybe even have enough idea of self preservation to shuffle behind other zombies so as not to get shot first, but you’re still not some great thinker.

Actually yes. There is a storygame just like that on the site. Forgot the name, though. But I think it's something fairly obvious like: "Life as a zombie" or something along those lines.

I have roleplayed as a zombie once. I lost my head to a baseball bat ;(
