Can/Has/Is there a maturity level 8 cyoa game? seems like that isn't allowed, so why not stop at seven on the maturity level gage ??

hmmm . . . I looked put the mpaa rating system . . . brief nudity is allowed in a PG movie =O

but here's what I really went there for:

"NC-17 — No One 17 and Under Admitted. An NC-17 rated motion picture is one that, in the view of the Rating Board, most parents would consider patently too adult for their children 17 and under. No children will be admitted. NC-17 does not mean "obscene" or "pornographic" in the common or legal meaning of those words, and should not be construed as a negative judgment in any sense. The rating simply signals that the content is appropriate only for an adult audience. An NC-17 rating can be based on violence, sex, aberrational behavior, drug abuse or any other element that most parents would consider too strong and therefore off-limits for viewing by their children"

not that NC-17 is any better than xXx =/

ANYWAYS - I say make it X/7 or make a fair 8/8 . . . cause I spent at least three days of my life looking for a 8/8
 

See, this site isnt a porn site. While I think Alex has been thinking about changing it, it's a good explanation. You won't find porn on this site. That's 8/8. Not allowed. 

Despite the fact that I just proved that 8/8 doesn't have to be porn (A movie could be rate NC-17 for extreme violence, high profane language and/or extreme drug use).

All I want is the _/8 to be replaced by a _/7 unless Alex decides on an appropriate 8/8  

I don't want porn on this site, nor do I actually what a 8/8 for violence or what have you . . . just want to cure the old OCD

No X rated stuff around here, there's CHYOO for that.

I'd say the goal isn't even so much of a "Won't someone think of the children?!" but more of quality control.

CYS gets more than its fair share of crappy stories even without porn content. If you start allowing porn content, I guarantee that number is going to triple since most people don't know how the hell to write it in the first place.

Seriously, even a brief glance at the CHYOO stories they mostly consist of:

You meet girl and (sex stuff, sex stuff, sex stuff) then her twin sister and (sex stuff and more sex stuff) THEN hot next door neighbor comes over and (kinky sex stuff, really kinky sex stuff) THEN a bus load of cheerleaders breaks down in front of your house and (orgy scene) The end.

Most of those people don't even bother even writing "erotica" let alone anything resembling a story. It's most just you fuck this girl/guy/whatever then you do this sex position, etc. Really don't need that sort of thing cluttering up the story list around here.

Now if someone actually wrote something sexually explicit with a proper storyline and better yet with stat/game elements as good as Mommy or Dead Man Walking THEN I'd almost say it might even get a pass despite the content. (I mean I can appreciate an effort made, but not sure about how anyone else would feel about it)

The problem is, nobody who writes porn tends to focus on stuff like because well, there's only one major goal in mind to write it.

Don't all CYOA sites get horrible games? Aside from COG since they are actually running a buisness, but they only get mediocre (and every once in a while a gem)

Yeah, what I'm saying is if we had allowable porn content, the number of crappy games would probably increase. (Something we obviously don't want!)

To be quite honest, I've always found a lot of CoG stuff rather meh to not all that great. Most of the stuff that is "work in progress" that actually shows promise never gets finished or wouldn't get approved due to their restrictions.

Never felt the need to buy anything on there actually, I'd actually buy Berka's Dead Man or Madglee's Mommy story first.

There was one game that was quite good, Way Walkers, but otherwise I've not been impressed. (perhaps due to the fact that the author in Way Walkers didn't focus in getting romances, and mostly on plot). Choice of Kung Fu was fun, but I'd pay for the games on this site more then on Cog. 

But I feel the point is that it shows you can't write porn here. It's a sign that there isn't an allowance for porn here. 

 really i just want the numbers to be fixed, having the possibility of an eight with the _/8 system and not be allowed to do it is like putting a child in front off a giant red button that says "PUSH" and telling them they can't.  

That makes sense, I've just spent too much time looking for an 8 to see what it is like  (slight OCD too)  and want the number system fixed in someway, dropping the limit to 7 seems like the best thing to do

Pretty sure the only current stories on here that would be going into the 8 section would be some of mine anyway. Lol.

pretty much, they also happen to be the quality stories that are allowed to be a little . . . politically incorrect =P

End I may be changing that theory of yours :)
