Questions about a storygame? Thoughts on Eternal? Any other IF you're playing out there?

I'm sick of writing stories that go on for ages that I'm still not 1/50th of the way through, so I decided to make a nice quick one. I'm going to take pictures of a lego person, and you have to walk around my house defeating things. Like an rpg.

Oh dear. I spoke too soon. The pictures ended up being too big and shrinking them would make them pixelate. So the game is off I guess.

lol, I had an idea similar, I just never got started.

you should be able to change the settings on the camera before taking a photo too make it smaller. and that should not make it pixelate. Depending on the Camera of course. It was a good Idea though. you should write some more of your storys too... ("Shade" - "Vale")

I have the same problem as you, October. Now, I just leave my games stuck in My Stuff. I keep thinking, I'll get around to it, and I never had.

I third that problem.

is thier any good conversion programs, that will change the file type and size? I know our Camera has a setting on it, and I can make them low on megapixels and quality (but still good enough for the size on this site) making them alot smaller.

When my dad gets home, I'll check out whether we can make all the pictures automatically be taken at 400 x 400 pixels or something, so then when we upload them, we won't have to minimize all the pictures on Paint all the time.

yea, I can do it on mine, I looked just before. we can change the pixels and their is also a quality one, and it lowers the size even more.

Then the lego game might be back on. I'm trying to get it so it has a picture on every page.

I'm just using my brother's 50 piece set for the whole thing... what a bummer. I know how to shrink the amount of pixels, but I want to find out how to do that to a whole folder of photos. How do I do that?

Lego Game

I'm not sure, you may not be able to do it to a whole folder... possibly one by one. you may have to re take all the photos at a lower pixel, ... if you change they current ones they might not look as good. but trial and error is probably your best bet. good luck

On Windows, right click in the folder (or desktop) that you want to put those pictures in.  Click on New Folder.  Name it Lego Pics.  Than when you upload the pictures, put them in there.

how did you go Andrew? did you get them small enough?

Lego Game

Oh.. you didn't call me October. That's different. I could take pictures at smaller amounts of pixels easily, just they were about 40 X 40 too big.

Also, could you try explaining again, Hav? I didn't quite get you.

Lego Game

oops sorry. October. can you cant change that on the camera? what type of camera do you have?
I just took a look at mine, I can change the pic Quality, Pixels and size. In different parts. so maybe you can do that. or find a program to resize it. I didnt get what Hav was saying either.

I've got a Canon - Powershot A610.. pfft, what a stupid name. Sounds more like a gun name to me.

can you find anything in the manual?

Lego Game

No, I mean it can't take pictures any smaller than that. I have to do them one by one on Paint, which takes far too long if I'm going to have about 1500 pictures in the game.

Lego Game

Woah!  1500 pictures?  That is far to many!  You'll never be able to get them all on your computer!  Not to mention you will get bored.

1.  Right Click on Desktop
2.  Click on New --> Folder
3.  Upload your pictures to that folder.  (Check your Camera Manual)
4.  On CYS, goto Your Pics.  (It's in the My Stuff section)
5.  Click Upload.  Upload from the folder.  (Do 1500 times for each of your picture)

*.  Where can I buy that cannon?  I think I want to add some defensive fortifications to my house.  lol

1500 pics. Isn't that a little bit of an overkill there, lol!

I know how to upload pictures and everything, I've got a program (Picasa) that does it all. I'm just looking for a program that can shrink multiple pictures at a time down to a certain amount of pixels. I don't mind uploading them to Choose Your Story at all.

Lego Game

I get the feeling, that you may have to do it, the slow one by one.

Lego Game

Hmm...that would be very frustrating.

Lego Game

Exactly my point. And minimising and uploading pictures isn't a pretty job. I think I'll finish my current story first. It'll be easier to manage my stories when they have the folders for pictures (which has already been suggested, mind you).

I saw a thing somewhere about how some e-mails will shrink things, search on the internet for resizing a group of photo's to email, maybe you cna email them to yourself, or to someone and get them sent back, and they will be smaller? Just a long shot.

Take a look at that... I didnt look at it much, but it might help you. you ahve windows xp right?

Lego Game

Already know how to do that. I was looking for one so I could shrink like 100 at a time. You can't email that much information unfortunately. The lego game is on hold for now anyways, so it doesn't matter. Yes, I do have Windows XP.
