Spy Mission (Demo)

Ok, so I don't normally do this, but I'm looking for a bump in my own muse.

Here is a link to a story I'm working (side note: this is how you do a demo). If anyone is so inclined, feel free to have a read and see what you think. I'm open to all comments and suggestions.

The plan has this leading to a number of very different chapters. If you play through and don't make it to the airport, you'll get through just the short first chapter. If you make it through the airport, you can read through chapter 2. You'll know you're at the end if you get to an ending or if you get to a dead link page (that will lead to chapter 7 or 8, depending on which one you get to). I also have attempted to write this to be very, very flexible with lots of options and different ways to get through (or to die). Feel free to go back often and try different things. Many objects can be used in places where, well, they really shouldn't be used...

O.O ... What the hell?

How ... ? You made the white border go away. You put a black border on the links. And the link ... in the page title. What? ... I'd be happy to give you a thorough review of your game, but could you possibly co-author me (not permanently, you understand, just for a time) so I could take a look around on the inside? :3 Please? Please? I hate that white border so much. So much.

Hmmm... How did I do that again?

I think it is the crazy pile of stuff in the end of the global page script...

And the link in the page title? That's ugly, but I think you'll get it as soon as you view the source of Page 1.

I... wish I could say I do, but ... I can't get it to work when I test it.

The white border around the inventory? Didn't I tell you how to do that...?

Uh ... did you? Hm. Maybe I missed your message or something? Or I read it, but I was exhausted that day and spaced out? I can't recall items in any of your games, so I'm not sure why I would automatically assume you would know and I don't recall asking you specifically, but if you did answer that question for me, thank you. =) (xD Either way, yay, TOW no longer has an inventory border.) I know I've asked you about other stuff, though, so regardless, thanks. :D

You made a thread about it half a year ago. Didn't do the best job of explaining now that I think about it... I'd like to see how Ogre solved it.

OH. I forgot about that ... seven months ago? You have a good memory. Damn shame that I missed your last reply, that would've absolutely clarified it. =( Still, again, thank you for the answer. ^^ (He solved it the same way you did, haha.)

Okay, so, I've read through it a few times. Visually, I think it looks pretty great and I'm sure that will attract some attention. That said, I also like the premise of the story and the fact that you're making several endings for it is also a big plus in my book. (Love replay-ability.) I don't see any mistakes so far and I think it's written pretty well up to this point, so, in a nut shell, I think it'll be a great addition to the site's collection. Thanks for letting me poke around, I look forward to playing the finished product. =3 Think we'll finish our games around the same time?

(Sadly, I still don't understand how the link in the title works, but I appreciate getting to finally rid TOW of that damn border. I'll definitely use that for MA as well. The coding for putting the links in a border themselves is also pretty nice. Not using that last one for TOW, granted, haha. It'd probably mess with my "door" links. But still, it's neat.)

Thanks! Down at the bottom of this page is where I found how to do the title page link.

Whenever I click on the link it sends me to the home page... odd.
