So, I've discussed this story several times in the Lounge, but for the people that have not heard of this story in progress, let me elaborate. This is the motivational thread and developmental thread for a novel I'm writing titled 'Watching Armageddon', a story about a boy, his twin sister, their younger brother, and their father living in the far future, where war and robbery are considered just as annoying as mosquitos. The world has been reduced to nothing more than a hell, and it only gets worse. A widespread terrorist group, nicknamed the Silver Swordsmen, want nothing more than to kill anyone who gets in their way.
One ordinary, violent morning, the protagonist is walking across the street when he and his father are assaulted by an ex-Swordsman wielding a sharp sword. The man guts the boy's father and leaves him with a warning--never cross the SS' swords again. The boy is angry, frightened, vengeful, and scared all at once, and the remains of his shattered family vows to avenge his father by shutting down this twisted group.
