When all that's desired is to do good in a cruel World with so little power, what measures might be taken to create change? Afflicted by something more than just psychosis, one rogue hero seeks a path of getting that power to help people in need. Henle's getting rougher by the day and it's starting to look like Bast isn't the only problem on the streets. In the end, it all comes down to Frameshift.

Parts of this tie into my main project, though they're only minor things that are neither particularly easy to find nor important to the plot. In context of the main story, however, anything you might feel is left unexplained can be understood from the information coming to a CYS near you sometime in the sort-of-near future.

Thanks to all of those who patiently helped me as I stumbled around the merciless world of scripting, especially BradinDvorak.

How to Create a Variable Item System
There are many ways you can use variables instead of items to overcome the limitations of items. This article discusses a complicated version that mimics the default item system, but allows for greater. It takes a while to set up, but becomes quick to use once everything is in place. I took just under 45 minutes to set up four items and an effect each following this article, but it'll probably take you longer because I've done this before.

This died so long ago I forgot I killed it. I have been scripting a lot recently and have been working on a horrifically complex fishing system in a fairly niche part of my main WIP (TSAOAC). There are 5 different types of bait. Skill and luck attributes affect the likelihood of catching either: nothing, common, uncommon fish, rare, extremely rare, or unique fish. Skill takes priority over luck. This required some disgusting statistics and I compiled a table to keep track of things. Here's a portion of that table below with %chance of a catch in the respective categories on the right: So far there are about 65 different things you can catch and various perks you can get from fishing. I've just about finished the script for one of the 5 bait options and ironed out bugs, so there's still a long way to go as different baits will have unique fish of all classes and different likelihoods of each class. Tbh, I don't know why the fuck I'm putting in this much time into a fishing system that's not that easy to get to anyway, I guess I always just really like fishing systems in games like Dark Cloud.

When I saw those Michigan protests and that they were saying lockdown was 'unconstitutional' I almost couldn't believe it, until I remembered American alt rights can't help but jack each other off about their constitutional rights at every family gathering, weekly shop, or just about anything else they do day to day.

Happened again. This time, it copied the script originally from a deleted link on a completely unconnected page. What. E: Possibly the last link I deleted.

Just caught this happening again. It looks like the automatically inputted link script was the same as what I had CTRL + C copied at the time, so that might be it. However, it also happened to be the script that leads to the page the new link was created on, so maybe it's also possible the page was copying link scripts from pages that led to it into its own links? Eh.

I think it might be when I create a link to a page that already has one or more links leading to it. I'll keep my eye out for this happening again and, if it does, search for the original link supplying the script to establish what the relationship is.

Here's a useful live dashboard for anybody who wants to watch the world crumble bit by bit: COVID dashboard Yankland's skyrocketing into first place, or last place I suppose. My thoughts go out to all you Americans on the site- I hope you stay healthy. One of the things that stands out to me about this whole ordeal is how strange a time it is. Nobody in living memory remembers a proper pandemic, and it's evident just from how different it feels to walk around on the streets (uh, not that I'm doing too much of this). Let's hope this all blows over at least within the next 3-6 months.

Sometimes, I've found in my storygame that newly created links come with existing script. I'm not sure exactly the nature, but I managed to find one just now and checked out what link script was copied into the new link. It seemed like a completely random script from a link on a page not even related to either pages the link was connecting. I'm not sure what page/link it was from though. It's really weird. I think it's only when I create a link to an existing page, but may also apply to a newly created page. Even weirder is that this only seems to have started happening recently. I've noticed this a few times now, and I'm wondering how many links I've made without realising they've got some random script in. My story has a huge amount of script and almost every link has script in it, so I don't know if this plays into it. Anyone else got this?
