Player Comments on Greek Mythology Quiz
"feel free to post any comments. They can be very negative, but please no language."
Fuck off.
"(Since this is a Quiz, not a story. I bet I will get a 3)"
No, it got a low rating because it's a low effort quiz, and here's why:
The quiz is simple. You have a question (all of them are fairly easy), and two answers. Two answers. You have a 1/2 chance of guessing the answer correctly, instead of the standard, and more interesting, 1/4. Why is this the case? Why are there not more answers? And why is the Icarus question so obvious? It's like you didn't even try to make convincing alternatives (or an alternative I should say) answers on that question. And why are there questions revolving around Roman gods in a Greek mythology quiz? Do tell.
Not only that, if you do guess the question wrong, it's game over. There's no, "hey you got it wrong and here's why", it's just over. Done. That's extremely lazy design.
It does lead onto my second point: A lack of a scoring system. There's no positive or negative feedback when you answer a question or finish the quiz. It's over, well done, or game over. Not exacting enticing.
Also, in response to another review which I happened to glance at, the questions are not obscure facts. They're pretty obvious to anyone with basic Greek mythology knowledge. They're not even mildly hard.
Subjective, I know.
Conclusion: Play if you're extremely board, but don't expect much in the way of gratification.

In one of your questions you asked what Theseus was given by the gods to defeat Medusa. But, as you even stated in an earlier question, it was Perseus, not Theseus, who slayed Medusa.
Aside from that, the content of the game was acceptable. One thing that annoys me, though, is that an incorrect answer will automatically end the game. You should be able to create a score system with a single variable, so there is really no excuse for an instant game-over.
Also, it would have been nice if you included some questions about the more neglected characters and aspects of Greek mythology, like Bellephron, Demeter and Persephone, Narcissus and Echo, Pan, the labors of Heracles, etc.

I'd advise that you don't insult the reader if you're going to fuck up yourself. Your first question was "What is the name of the hero who slayed the Medusa?" ... The correct answer, which I gave initially, is (of course) "Perseus." (Even if I hadn't studied Greek myth, all anyone needs to do is google "Perseus" and you'll automatically get at least a dozen images of him holding the head of Medusa.)
Then later you asked: "What was Theseus given from the gods to slay the Medusa?" even though, for kicks, I also tried answering the first question with Theseus, just to see if you had the finer mechanics of a quiz down ... and you responded with a game over and "Theseus slayed the MINOTAUR you dumbass!"
... Again, don't call your reader an idiot if you already know the right answer and you still screw up. (Also, you lose the right to complain about our language if you're going to call your reader an ass, dumb or otherwise.)
I love Greek Mythology and I enjoy quizzes a great deal, but this was inaccurate, it lacks sorely in choices for answers, and the mechanics are only rudimentary at best.
I'd advise learning some scripting, double-checking your work, adding more questions and answers, and trying again.

To be honest, I was at first very excited because I simply ADORE Greek mythology(or any type of mythology, for that matter), but my hopes were dashed almost immediately.
First off, you only had two options, instead of, as others have already said, four. You have a 50/50 of guessing the correct choice, and pretty much all the answers were obvious. If you got one wrong, you immediately had to finish the quiz and start over again.
It also lacked detail, and you contradicted yourself throughout the story. Finally, what made me most annoyed was when you said Artemis wanted to be Zeus's maid....
Fun Fact: She wanted to be a maiden, not a maid. Two VERY separate things.

The questions were easy enough, assuming you know anything about Greek mythology. A bit too short and simple with only two options being offered for each of the eight questions. More content in a future attempt would be appreciated.
Out of interest, I played through a second time to see what an incorrect answer would yield. For the most part, there was a simple "Incorrect, try again" which is fine. However, a few of the incorrect answers result in an insult being directed at the reader. I find this a little hypocritical since the author says at the end of the quiz "feel free to post any comments. They can be very negative, but please no language."
Another point that niggled me was the question about the Basilisk in which the answer is "a giant lizard." Firstly, a Basilisk is said to be a serpent and not a lizard. It is also said to not actually be very big. Secondly, if you choose the incorrect answer 'a giant lion' the author responds with the comment 'A giant lion creature doesn't exist!' Which really calls into question their own knowledge of Greek mythology. Considering one of the Labours of Hercules was to slay the Nemean Lion. A creature that could not be killed by mortal weapons because of its golden fur that was impervious to attack. It also possessed claws that could cut through any armour. A mythical lion creature if I ever heard of one.
Some advice would be to put a little more effort into the next game/quiz. Do some fact checking before publishing. Try not to insult the people who are reading your work and will rate it based on their experience.

It was a little bit boring. Maybe a little bit more description after the question would be good.

Interesting. You might add some background, maybe make it into a game show or something like that. I think that would improve the rating, and you could also make an adventure to go along with the quiz.

I love Greek Mythology, and I was expecting a bit more from this quiz. However, some of the names were Latin, making it a little confusing, and it first said that Perseus killed Medusa (he did) and then it asks what weapons Theseus used to kill Medusa. ?
I like the idea, but it should be worked out a little more.

Really good, needs some more questions, however. I do know how hard it is to make a decent game, so not too bad.

There were some pretty obscure facts tested, so kudos on doing the research to make this.
Although, in question six, it asks 'which weapons were Theseus given to slay the Medusa', and I thought a previous question already established that Perseus was the one who killed Medusa.

I mean, it was an alright quiz. There needs to be a system where the author actually calculates the score of the player, and some more choices for each question, but it was an okay quiz on itself. Lastly, just wanted to point out this isn't exactly interactive fiction, but there's also a lot of other quizzes on the site...

Incorrect in places and it's recommended to use the Variables/Points System in the advanced editor rather than telling someone they have lost if they get a wrong answer or a right answer which you think is a wrong answer. On the plus side the grammar and spelling was ok.

A quiz is supposed to include variables and not give you the answers until the very end. Anyway, good effort, but please implement variables next time. 4/8
