Wizardry

You may or may not have read my little story earlier this week. It was just me getting started, really. I'm going to post the first page, devoid of any choices of my next story, which will hopefully end up longer than anything EndMaster has written. *cough*unlikely*cough*

Little colorful dots dance in your blackened vision as you open your eyes for the first time on this day. You are laying on your bed, warmth infusing your body as your thick comforter caresses you as you flip yourself over onto your back. A small sigh of comfort escapes your mouth as you snuggle into your pillow. There are no lights in your room or outside, as far as you can tell. Your eyes drift closed once again, and you fall asleep, to awaken at another time.

...

...

...

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP

With a sudden jolt, you find yourself awake once again. Bleary eyed, you bemoan the fact that you just got back to sleep- you swear. The bright light of the morning sun seems to disagree with you, and you place your right hand on the end table next to your bed, your fingers pressing into the odd symbol present upon the piece of wood. That symbol, like many other things in your world, are taken for granted. You don't bother to study the intricate lines and weaving diagrams that make up such a device, nor do you care to understand it. It's your alarm- it goes off at a set time, and my touching the center, you turn it off. That's all you have ever felt you should know.

Regardless, you are now awake. You are not exactly happy about it, but you are awake none-the-less. After sitting up, your comforter pooling around your waist, you feel goose bumps on your skin. Apparently, it's cold this morning. Well, it's at least colder than the warmth of your bed. Shoving aside the comforter in sudden disgust, you swing your legs over the side of the bed, pushing your body upright. Your vision swims for a moment as vertigo sets in. This happens occasionally, when you suddenly get up here or there. The notion passes, and you groggily make your way into the bathroom attached to your room.

You look at yourself in the mirror, taking note of your unchanged body, the same as it always has been. You are you, nothing more, nothing less. After splashing water on your face, another luxury you and countless others take for granted, unknowing of the complex matrices put in place to insure your water is fresh and cold, you finally head back into your room to get dressed.

Once in your room, you stare at the dresser in which you have carelessly gotten your clean clothes from for the last... 20 years? Yes, 20 years. You've had this single dresser your entire life. However, your clothes have always been your choice. Always. It came to be a surprise to you when you saw the weird plain grey robes sitting on top of your dresser. Suddenly, it came to you. Today was the day you would go to the Academy of Studies and Society, which was unfortunately named for every student ever has called it the School of ASS. The name was, perhaps, the most unmagical thing in the world of unbridled magical potential. Still, it was a school where students would study the science of magic, alongside the other core subjects needed to be a respected citizen of Fantallia.

After putting on the dull grey robes, which showed the world you knew just about nothing about magic, as befitting your status as a first year in the School of ASS, you finally head downstairs, where the bickering of your mother and step-father can be easily heard. Once there, they stop and turn to you. Your mother smiles winningly at you, while your step-father grumps off to the side. She speaks up, "You're a bit late, sweetie. You're going to have to miss breakfast." Great. Perfect. No food. That's just exactly what you wanted to hear. Oh well, you just nod sullenly, not exactly happy as you follow your mother to the next room, where you ignore everything around you in favor of the teleporter. It's a fairly interesting device, really. The runes and scripts engraved in it allow the exact transportation of physical matter to another location. Each teleporter taps into the magic of the world around us to move people and things. It's a recent development discovered and patented by a group of Senior Students at the prestige establishment known as the Base of Accelerated Development of All Student Studies. Otherwise known as the School of BADASS. Sadly, you're too poor to go there, and are, in fact, stuck with the School of ASS. You enter the teleporter, and suddenly, you and your mother are gone.

You reappear inside the lobby of the school. Once there, she ushers you forward, waving goodbye and makes you promise that you'll always wear a clean pair of underwear. After she leaves, the the intense desire to commit murder subsides, you head over to the amused woman standing behind the front desk.

"Hello," she giggles, "What can the Academy of Studies and Society do for you today?" She finishes asking, finally a bit more professionally.

You've got skill. Humorous, entertaining, but on a somewhat serious level that doesn't distract you from the story. I like it.

Thank you, Delta.

Anywho, does anyone think I should allow you to chose your gender, or should I keep it androgynous? Either way, I plan on this to have 8's all down the board.

Probably androgynous.  If you add a gender function, you'll have to create gender bias in each path...

Each path will likely end up very different in the end. My plan of action is to write the story one one exact path at a time, and when done, move down the next path and so on and so forward through the entire story until there are thousands upon thousands of pages. I doubt this will be done anytime this year.

But the year has just begun! Surely you can manage to pull it off by the end of December? Then again I never did have a good grasp on tim- and it's way past time I work on my project that's due tomorrow morning... Gosh you school giving me a major essay due on a Monday and a major project due on a Tuesday, and don't even get me started on the children's story I'm suppose to have done on Thursday...

And I got off topic, anyways.

The story seems amazing, as soon as it does get published I will instantly pounce upon it and see if the rest of it is half as good as this page. If it is then you've done an amazing job, especially if you make it as long as it seems like you're trying to do.
