Obama has not and is not destroying the US economy. Obama is simply allowing the Bush stimulus packages to continue because of that economic theory created by that one British economist (I can't remember his name for the life of me) who said that in a period of great economic downfall, the government must spend like crazy in order to create jobs and stimulate the economy. It failed. Then Obama raised taxes to the same levels as the Clinton years.
So no, I don't think that Obama ruined the economy, I'm a believer that the economy fluxuates over time, and that if we don't increase spending or make any more tax cuts right now, we'll be set in the next decade. Of course most people want faster results, so that's likely not gonna happen.
I would join the libertarian party, but I don't know much about it. Most of my friends who support the libertarians simply do so because they no longer want to support the Democrats or Republicans due to their recent and constant screw ups, along with the fact that Republicans think that Businesses should be invested in and the people shouldsuffer, and the Democrats think that the people should be invested in, and the businesses should suffer, and so my Libertarian friends simply turn to the next big things: The Libertarians. If you look at history, that actually happens a lot.

Well obviously, I think it is too long. But I disagree with you when you said that the economy flucatutes and that the economy will readjust itself naturally. I believe that the government must spend money in order to fix an economy. During the great depression, the economy of germany was horrible, but it suddenly recovered because of the influx of jobs created by government intervention. In my mind, the economy of the US would not have recoved so quickly or sucessfully without government intervention.

Germany readjusted because Hitler was a great leader (not anti-semitism or racism, fact. He's just a horrible person) and used the Jews as a common enemy in order to rally the Germans. With the increased military creating jobs, and the workforce building the parts to the German war machine, the ecomonomy fixed itself right up. The same happened when the US went to war with the Axis Alliance, it provided a common enemy and massivley boosted our military and economy with the new jobs, only we were prosecuting the Japanese-Americans, not the Jews.
So yeah, unless you're going to war with someone when you get elected, we won't right ourselves on a scale as massive as the Germans, nor will we reach the epic low that they did (alhthough the Americans were a cause) :)
