Come ladies and gents to the Collaboration of CYS writers! After my last two failed attempts (Yes, TWO), I'm thinking of starting up another attempt at a storygame with a number of individuals here. Here's how it works :
Unlike last time, where I had a bunch of categories to choose from and vote on, users can post up their own concepts (much like the RPs here), and after...let's say about a week, I'll close the vote.
Who ARE you?
Yeah, who are you?????
I mean, yeah! Who is that guy? >_>
This tone is so familiar to another guy...
I just don't know who...
It's totally cysid, I'm telling you guys.
Started by Swifty, but it's not him that's using it at the moment.
It doesn't really matter who it is, does it?
How about a fantasy arena game where you can play as one of many classes and build yourself up throughout the game. Some good starter classes would be swordsman, archer, battle mage, monk, or rogue. Include a really good stat system and several advanced classes you can switch to as you progress. Some good advanced classes might be spearman, axe-wielder, ranger, sniper, summoner, elementalist, enchanter, priest, demon hunter, assassin, thief, death knight, paladin, etc. I know it sounds a little generic, but it can still be cool, right?
I agree that sounds cool. What if there were also multiple factions you could ally yourself with to make a more interesting storyline?
What if the arena takes two years each match, and it's held in a colossal land mass?
Cool. I am a grammar freak, so I can go through and pretty it up for everybody. You know, fix grammar errors and misspellings. I'm also an experienced writer. I do say that I like how everyone is building off of my idea. There are a lot of people here who are much more creative than me.
Like a whole continent?
hm...maybe a fantasy version of the hunger games, except on a larger scale?
Or have a mixture of one-on-one battles and battles royale. I don't know, but hey, it doesn't hurt to bounce ideas off the wall, right?
I was thinking maybe like a team version of the Hunger Games?
Here's a concept. A country's trying to pull itself back together after a long war. The main character is fighting against several others to become the leader of the country. Throughout the game, the character is approached by several groups, each with their own idea's for the country. These benefactors each offer the character different benefits and consequences.
So that would scrap the arena idea and make it more of an adventure game instead of fighting
Well, no, I meant have it like a battle royale to determine who will lead the country. It is already pre-determined that the winner will assume the throne.
Each person fighting represents a certain independent splinter of the former country.
So the president can totally kick your ass?
That's pretty cool.
Yes! I LOVE that idea. I think we should do that. And each contestant is the leader of his or her faction.
Or at least a member of it
Yes, and have the main character start out as an independent (not swayed towards any of the benefactor's ideas) who is slowly forced to pick a side. Like say, one of his benefactors wants a democracy; another wants a socialist republic; another communism; yet another complete anarchy. These benefactors are all vying for the main characters alignment with their cause.
Of course, it doesn't have to be that way. I'm still in the idea bouncing phase. Please, someone else try to take the reins. When I get involved in a group project, I have an overwhelming tendency to try to take it over. I don't want that to happen this time, guys.
Dude we should just start on this. Or we could make a separate account just for that game? So that they can do something else? Because I think this is what we should do.
I don't think we should rush it, but if we can get two or three other (trustworthy) people to join in, I'll definitely be willing to do that.
What's the sad face for. It's just a possibility.
Alright. I'll leave the decision up to you. But if you decide to do it seperately, don't forget me...
Trust me, I won't. I'm working on getting a coder, but I kinda just upset him/her on accident.
BUT I WANT IT TO HAPPEN NOW!
(That's what she said.*buh-dun-tsss*)
Okay, first of all, it appears that neither of you have story writing experience. I am not going to say that will make things impossible, but I would like to have at least one person with a lot of story writing experience and another coder/scripter.I don't want more than four co-authors. After that, things become...messy.
No worries; I'll be the judge of that! ^-^
Sorry, we were discussing the possibility of taking the "battle royale for the crown" thing and doing it on our own. I guess we shouldn't have highjacked this thread, though.
Let's start our own thread
This could be a good idea, I can help.
Well, from what I DO remember from first starting this up, it's also optional that you could make the story go in SEVERAL different ways with many types of parallel plots. Hmph.
A note of clarification : the community project will be done on THIS account.
Really? Wait, are we doing an advanced storygame, or a "simple" one? Cuz the simple version doesn't have many problems, as far as I can see...
How about I open up a simple storygame format for a rough draft, and then make an advanced format for final drafting?
(And if you're concerned about someone ruining your storygame, then you doubt my judging ability. At most, about only three of you will be accepted into the project anyways ^-^)
They aren't really chosen by the community, but by the guy who knows the pass to the account. It's all based on a matter of trust and memory.
I have no idea how this'll go, but I wish you the best of luck! (Whoever the hell you are, Commie-Collab XD)
I highly doubt this will end up well, but I'm in.
I probably won't get chosen or really contribute at all, but I would love the opportunity.
Here is goes: A medieval story set on earth (the landscape/planet is the same) HOWEVER Germanics are replaced with Dark Elf, Celts with elf, turkic/mongolians with Orcs etc
You start of as an orphan baby and you grow up to explore the world. You can either become a merchant or soldier and serve a certain kingdom or join a guild etc.
Just write about the life of a poor and failing carpenter in the middle of a civil war and invasion from the orcs. :P
That way people can get depressed at the sense of no hope in the story.
Or I could make a Necromancer spin-off where you take the role of a prostitute in a dying world
Necromancer spin-off where you play as his shoes.
I just want fantasy adventure endmaster bullshit stories.
Well, I'm up for a challenge.
Kiel and I may be late, but we're good to go :P
