I don't write these sorts of things often. Those who know me can tell you that I'm a lazy bastard. Still, I'm taking the time to, so I might as well give it some effort. I'm going to be honest. I came back to this site yesterday. It's not the CYS I've come to love. Sure, it's been immature. I can understand and respect JJ wanting to improve the level of maturity and sophistication on the site. But hindering the creativity of those involved to the degree displayed is a bit too much for me to stomach. I don't know if this post will be deleted, though I hope it isn't, because repressing differing opinions steps it up to a whole different level. Still, I have to share my thoughts.

When I first came here 3 years ago, I was young. I was immature. I didn't know what I do now, and I wasn't that into the whole 'rp' thing that I saw referenced every now and then. I was originally here for the storygames. And I was not let down. Sure, there was the bad, but as they say, the remaining 10% were worth every one of the lesser works. It was after I had read through most of the games on here that I turned to the forums, looking for more. Again, I wasn't dissapointed. And it is here where then connects with now.

Freeform RP let me push creative boundaries. It made me think, it made me want to play more, explore more. It was why I became so active on the site in the first place. And now, with that gone, I can't help but feel that the forums no longer have that sort of appeal, the sort of mystique that infinite creative possibility grants. This just doesn't feel like CYS anymore without that.

Again, I can understand JJJ's wish to be mature. I can respect it, I can agree with it. But I can't agree with some of the steps he's taken towards that goal. I can't say that I think the ends justify the means. With that said, I'll close this quickly. I don't know if I'll post again. I don't know if I'll be back, or if anyone will listen to or care about this meager post among many. Still, no matter what happens, I wish CYS and it's inhabitants good luck in the future.
