So, I kind of buggered up my game. I wanted to change the first page of my game, and I assumed that the page the game started on was always the first page of the first chapter, so I deleted my old first page and made a new one. After I did that I found out that the first page is actually determined by the order you make the pages in, so now my game is starting in completely the wrong place, and I don't know how to fix it besides deleting the 100 plus pages I have so far and starting over, or changing the second page of my game to make it like my original first page and fiddling around with all the links and variables related to it.

Is there anyway to just... Change the order of your pages? Like, make page 113 into page 1 or something?

Not that I know, I haven't screwed up my story(yet).

You can change the first page of any Chapter - including the first Chapter - just make the change above the pages where it says 'Chapter & Starting Page'..  ^v^

Note the separate 'Save' for it though.

No, I don't mean the starting page in a chapter, I mean the actual page number. Like, the pages will all have a number like [#130] next to them. Is there anyway to change [#130] into [#1]? Even if you change the starting page of a chapter, the game will always start on the first page that you made. If you delete that page, it was start on the second, so now my game is starting on the first page of chapter 2.

With pictures like a picture book :D

... Can't be that easy if it takes nearly half an hour to type it all out 

it's easy, but taking the pictures and editing them to make it easy to understand is time consuming :P

Well, maybe not that simple. But it's much less complicated than any scripting. The part that is taking me so long is going step-by-step with pictures. So that there is no need for clarification. Although I do realize that it may just be a waste of time, because I might be fixing a problem that Briar doesn't have. xD

Well I just explained about 9 steps then realized I only needed one ;( There goes 30 minutes of my life.

Edit:: I have failed!!! ;( I was so close, but when you update a chapter it updates all chapters.

Before hand please check this article. This method assumes that you are using chapters to organize.




You'll need to create a new page on the first chapter. (Make sure it is the first chapter, because we are going to bypass the default setting)



Leave that page blank.





Change the chapter one start page to the blank new page you have just created.


Do this for all chapters located between the first chapter and the chapter which holds the page that you want to be the first page.


Navigate to the chapter that has the page that you would like the game to start on.



Go back to the first chapter after saving changes to the chapter which holds the page you want to be the first page.

Delete the blank page on chapter one. (as well as all the blank pages you made on other chapters leading up to the chapter which holds the page that you want to be the first page.)


Make sure that the chapter start page is now blank for all chapters leading up to the chapter which holds the page that you want to be the first page of the story (Not including the chapter which holds the page that you want to be the first page). (I realized later, that this was an option from the beginning. Too late, I already put way too much effort into this - I'm not stopping. Go simplify this process yourself. Hmph.)

Wait a minute... when you update 1 chapter it updates all chapters... which creates a paradox in the space-time continuum... I'm so sorry I couldn't help ;( *crys*

Uhh... How much are you guys going to hate me when I tell you I was wrong about the whole "If you delete the first page, the second page becomes the game's start point" thing, and the only reason the first page of the first chapter wasn't showing up as my game's starting point was because I forgot to set a starting page for that chapter? 

I'm not mad, I failed anyways ;'(

Dang Ford, you went through all that, just to graphically say what I said in the second post of the thread - which in the third post, (before your fourth post even), Briar had already said that wasn't what she was asking for... LOL!

I think I understood the words of the OP differently xD either way I ended up with about 50 photos in photobucket and in my pictures folder
