"Item Scripts are attached to items and evaluated whenever the player uses that item; they can be used to change the destination, alter the Item Can't Be Used text, set the destination, etc." I don't see anywhere where it explains how to alter an item's cant be used text, cause that would be pretty cool.

You can alter the default text it displays when you use an item. I thought that's what it was referring to.

On-Page Scripting works on Item Descriptions.

$PAGETEXT doesn't change the text displayed on the popup though.

When I'm not on my phone I'll go figure it out. Maybe I'm not understanding what you're meaning: I didn't use scripts, just the advanced editor items, and I know I've changed the default text

When you use an item in an area it can't be used, a popup box appears saying "You can't use this here".

That's what I'm referring to.

Ah. I'm talking about when you look at the items properties, you can set a default effect. Then instead of the "you can't use that here" message, you get whatever message you set as the default.

Except you can't. You get the option to set a default page, but the message is a custom page that you can't change or access.

Not to mention the editor specifically says you can use scripting to change it, which no one has been able to support.

Still don't have an answer to this that shows its possible.

" alter the Item Can't Be Used text"

Explain what this sentence even means.

When you use an item and it doesn't have a location to go to, a pop-up shows up saying "this item can't be used here".

You didn't know that?

Ah that. Of course I knew that. Just the way the sentence was worded is awkward. Yeah, I don't think that can be altered.
