When using the Advanced Editor (IE9) I can put a background picture on a story page from Source with HTML & CSS, then see it when going back to Text. But when looking at the story in the Story Viewer, The background is not being shown.

I can also put a background in a Forum Post in the same manner - Put in Source and view in Text. But if you post it, not only does the background not show in the post - but it actually changes the background in the white space on the Site itself. I did a test and changed all the white space on the Site (from my PC at least), to bright green via a Forum post.

I see the post you're talking about but I definitely don't see a green background. Perhaps it only changes it for you.

I immediately edited it out - right after posting it. So I can't say whether the change is local or global. (And I certainly didn't want to risk being responsible for a global bright green background change lol).

Also, I note that I cannot add any ' < ' bracketed commands in any script box (it finds the ' < ' in error). I was trying to add $PAGETEXT := $PAGETEXT + "<body background='whatever.jpg'> into the Global Page Script, but couldn't.

I'm willing to try to recreate the background change, if alexp or another programmer wants to be on hand to 'fix it' afterwards...

You shouldn't be able to put a <body> tag inside of a storygame page, and the new editor is probably enforcing this.

The Style/CSS thing in the FWW will solve this problem, but perhaps you can try doing

instead? It may not filter out STYLE elements.

This is working now in the story editor and viewer using the following in the Global Page Script:

$PAGETEXT := $PAGETEXT + "<body background='whatever.jpg'>"

At the risk of making a fool out of myself, I may have been using the following instead, having omitted the quotes:

$PAGETEXT := $PAGETEXT + <body background='whatever.jpg'>

Backgrounds in the Story is a non-issue now; but there is still some odd goings on if you try to put a background in a forum post (not that there's really much need for that though).
