A simple suggestion, but one that could be beneficial to the new name and feel of the site. Was thinking that guests that come might wonder why the points are called "MAG." In moving away from the idea that our creations are games, but rather stories, a different name for the points might be in order.

Yeah, or even "Story Points," which might be particularly fitting and (hopefully) unique to this site. Or you could name them after a favorite fictional currency. I was trying to think of certain stories I liked and take that name for currency, like "Hitchiker's Guide" but can't remember what currency was used. Dunno, I'm sure one of you guys can think up a good new name.

we could go all street like and call them C notes lol. but on a serious note, think of the history of MAG points. even if it doesnt go with the site, its history. MAG points are what we have. no offense to our friends across the sea, but we arent europe. lets not have Euros. we have MAG points.

Good observation. I thought we just called then "Points" but I see that's not the case by looking at the profile page. Really, even with myAdventureGame, I'm not sure the casual reader would correlate MAG with the domain name.

Though, I do like the idea of a cutesy name. I'll bring this up with chocobot, he's very creative in this area.

Definitely agree that we should keep the acronym thing. Like the dichotomy b/w the sites until it's all one.
Now I'm starting to think of nods like these, too:

GP (gold pieces)
EP (electrum pieces)

And non-acronyms:

Flanian pobble beads (rom The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Not an especially useful currency as it can only be exchanged for other Flanian pobble beads) - HA!

NuYen (Shadowrun)

What about PP (platinum pieces) or EXP (experiance) or level (put a decimal after the hundreds, so I'd be level 28.26)

YES! PP were my second favorite after EP in the old days (didn't put that b/c of what i say below :P). EXP would be even better, I like that one. And, taking off your level idea, at certain ranges of points, people would get titles. Like 0-100 : Novice, 101-200: Mercenary, etc.

Oh, here's why I didn't choose platinum pieces. Say the abbreviation out loud. As in, "I have twenty PP points." grin.

LOL AHHAHAHAHAHHA however this is very d&d ish and rememebr this is a writing website.  personally i'm a D&D fanatic but I think alex wants this to have to do with writing. So maybe like Chapter Points, or Page Points (but then again PP)
